BROADBAND INTERNET USERS?

Just a quickie for you all or anyone that has broadband internet access. Is it all it is cracked up to be?

I love tuning into radio stations from Europe, (so much better than the UK ones + helps with language skills!). However I am finding that after about 5 minutes of connection it goes a bit funny!!

Can anyone tell me if I obtain broadband will I be able to get a better connection and tune into radio stations with better quality?

Any help gratefully appreciated............. :)

I have broadband internet access and it’s WAY better than dial-up. Broadband or DSL are the best way to go when you do streaming audio and what not. It also depends on the site.

If you aren’t gonna give it a use most of the day, it is not worth the money... but if you or your family are gonna give it a use most of the day... it’s totally worth the money.
aside that it is great to listen to streaming radio :)
and great for download addicts

i will say this is you are also an avid webpage builder a broadband connection is a blessing it take stuff that takes hrs on dialup justa few minutes on braodband

Maybe it’s not “broad enough” :D. I don’t usually have any problem when listening to the radio or watching streaming video...

@ally77 - I use Ntl’s broad band service ..... so far I’ve had no problems with it (although I have heard some horror stories LOL)

It cost me £25 a month and I’d say it’s well worth it.
For £14.99 you can get their 128k, for £24.99 you can have 600k and for £34.99 you get a 1mb connection, they’re also offereing free instalation at the moment. (not sure how long for though)

Check out www.ntlworld.com, hope that helps.

@ Vixtzer Thanx, I have a friend who is on NTL and she loves it, but we can’t get it where I am as new house only built 4 years ago and they did not put cables in :( .....

Thinking of going to BT as they also have an offer on at moment half price connection with free modem till end of March,

Thanx to everyone who gave me some advice, I think I will opt for Broadband!!

BT is also ok, my boyfriend uses them although he had trouble at the beggining, but then I’ve heard stories about every broadband provider so I think it just depends.
