Per crashes party in the Czech Republic
Written by abysmo on January 17, 2009 to Per Gessle and Releases.
More good news is coming from the Czech Republic. Per's new album "Party Crasher" will be released also in the Czech Republic at the end of January and "Silly Really" will be added to radio playlists next week according to Czech music website MusicServer.cz.
No more details are known right now, also there's no news on the official EMI Czech sites, but it's quite normal.

Album will get its Polish premiere on March 2. There is even officiall information on www.emimusic.pl, but as far as I know no promotion is planned.
The biggest Polish webshop put PC on their site:

Sorry, but I don’t count on it. There’s almost no promotion, you can’t reach nr. 1 anywhere with no promotion. Records don’t sell by themselves.

I can not understand why many of you are so negative. Why to post and visit Tdr if you only wish Per Gessle fails. For me is good to see the album is gonna be released in most european countries and i really wish it gets a release in usa and southamerica
Raëlian said on January 18, 2009 23:48:
It’s no being negative, it’s being realistic. This album won’t reach the #1 anywhere if there’s no promotion. It’s a fact.
Starrox said on January 19, 2009 00:25:
Very true, unfortunately! And promotion doesn’t necessarily mean success, either: SOAP got some promotion here in Germany, Jo-Anna says was played on the radio, but guess what? The album still didn’t make it into the Top 100! And you really don’t have to sell that many albums nowadays to at least enter the charts...
I think part of the problem with SOAP was (and is going to be with PC) the fact that it had been out for over three/almost four months in Sweden by the time it was released here, and so many, if not most, of the potential buyers had already bought it. A strategy like that might have worked 15 years ago, but not when there’s a thing called internet!
abysmo said on January 19, 2009 00:54:
@Starrox: Amen. Nothing more to add. Maybe only this: CD price from Bengans shipping included is mostly lower than price of CD officialy released here (CZ) in the shops. Don’t understand how is it possible but it’s fact. But despite it all it’s good that new album will be released ’eurowide’, also because of not only Swedish but ’eurowide’ promotion. More people can takes note that this guy from “Halo you fool I love you” hit is still here. If they recognize him yet :-).

So basically what you’re saying there is a potential market for 50 sold CDs in Germany??
Emil__BG said on January 19, 2009 18:02:
Yes. Without powerful female voice ,good lyrics and at least pleasant to watch video clip , market isb’t very wide.
SOAP had few meaningful songs but even it didn’t sell much.
Kerstin said on January 20, 2009 17:14:
tevensso, you know about the sales figures of the PC copies that were sold to Germany?
Tell us more ;-)
tevensso (moderator) said on January 20, 2009 20:12:
I can bet you about a million dollars it wasn’t more than 100.
emilio said on January 20, 2009 20:17:
Exported to Germany from Sweeden? how could Tevensso know about it? Does he?
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 21, 2009 10:20:
Same old story isn’t it. Zero promotion again. Why do EMI bother releasing stuff without promotion? Its crazy. Have there been any articles in German/Czech press about the album. Even if Per doesn’t actually visit the countries himself, at least put something in the press???
Ifik said on January 24, 2009 16:18:
Any articles, maybe only some “fans” working in medias... like me:)

But I am in contact with EMI, so I am going to ask them some question... The album without promo is dead I think... Unfortunately... Wish u nice day, Iva

It’s gonna flop big time, but I didn’t even expect they would release it here, so I’m positively surprised;-)
btw it’s on #15 in Sweden, which is quite dissapointing. I suppose it will never reach #1
