“Müsli” next single
Written by tevensso on September 21, 2007 to Per Gessle and Releases.
From "En händig man" there will be a third single release. This time around it will be "Pratar med min müsli (hur det än verkar)" in a slightly edited version. Sadly it will only be another radio release, hence no b-side.
The single will be out in the beginning of October.

So the singles are already out, I knew this would happen, but I din’t thougth it would happen this soon.

I guess the singles market (in terms of a “physical release”) is over, but sometimes when an album sells as well as En händig man, the record label decides nobody will buy the singles because they’ve already got the album. Perhaps only the hardcore fans want the singles - and that’s only to get the b-sides/special tracks.
This happened with Marie’s solo albums ten years ago, didn’t it?

Congratulations to the “clever head” who has decided to release it only as a radio single... or shall we believe PeGe ran out of B sides ideas? Haha, I mean is the Pope catholic? Really low promotionwise, if you ask me.

I guess it’s simple buiseness. EMI would not make any money in releasing the song as a single. Per is not a single selling artist. I don’t blame them, they can’t make a single only to make us happy.

So will it be possible to somehow get that edited version of the song?

I agree to the fact that releasing cd-singles in today’s digital era is quite useless, digital-downloads (as they call them) are much better and cost effective but why not adding the b-side just the same? CD albums are different because you don’t have to change the disc every second song!
PS. When is it coming out? iTunes will surely have it as it happened already with ’The Rox Medley’ ’Ingen kommer undan politiken’ and ’Jag skulle vilja tänka en underbar tanke’...

Yes I forgot to add the release “date.” It’s there now. The song will be edited sometime next week by Christoffer Lundqvist.

I am glad I don’t have to spend any money in a single, to get a short instrumental as a B-side. Singles don’t sell anymore, only the 1st one when the music is totally new and fresh to the ears of the customers. Maybe there’s room enough for a second single too... but when the 3rd one is out nobody remembers the album it is from anymore. So, this was quite predictible.
We shouldn’t moan about the lack of B-sides. We have a couple of extras, like En händig man (demo) and Ett perfekt ägg, and we can consider them as B-sides we got in advance. There’s not reason to complain about it.
By the way, other tracks deserved to be out as singles instead of this. “Våldsamt stillsamt” would make a better choice than “Müsli”...

Yes, it is probably so that single 2&3 would not sell to much to get profit out of it, so i guess we have to get used to it.
Myself on the other hand would not mind having a regular cd-single release as I’m a collector :)

BTW “Müsli” is great choice for the single. Very catchy song, one of the best on the album.

agree–“Müsli” is great choice for the single!
If people won’t buy single cos they already have album ,why they will buy digital single?
I rather buy a normal single ,just to have something on the shelf than digital “nothing”.
Gachy said on September 22, 2007 09:29:
“Müsli” is too old-fashioned, maybe suitable for radio listeners in their 60s. The digital single is for people that happen to hear the song on the radio, and is interested in getting only that song. If you already have the album, getting a digital dowload of this song must be quite stupid...

Sad! First the single dies...and after that ...the pysical albums??? But as long as our Mr. Gessle is still also releasing vinyl stuff I hope he will keep on releasing real CD’s.
I wanna have real CD’s and booklets and jewelcases and extrasuperdouper highglossy paper and such stuff....
Music is art and not just a 101001100110001111001-code :( sniff...

Thanks in advance.

No idea about dates or times, but I’m willing to bet that P4 will play it even if no-one else does. They played “Ingen Kommer Undan Politiken” after all!
I also agree there are better choices - “Om Jag Vetat Då” or “Trött” would have been my choice (or “Min Hälsning”... what a beautiful song, thank God Per resurrected it from oblivion!).

So any specific date for the start of radio airplay ?
I’d like to know so i could get it from the radio since its an edited version.
Take care!

I’d also like to know when the single will be played on radio. I still haven’t heard it on RixFM or Mixmegapol...
As for the choice of the single, I prefer Våldsamt Stillsamt, but Pratar Med Min Müsli (Hur Det Än Verkar) is also a great choice as I love the song :)
And it’s sad to realise that the single market is rapidly dying. No CDs, no little booklets... *sniff*

So now we’re in the second part of October rather than the beginning... any news if the single has been cancelled or put off?
AURYTE said on October 19, 2007 17:15:
I’m also wondering what’s going on with the realise of the third single. I still haven’t heard it on any Swedish radio!

“Jag skulle vilja tänka en underbar tanke” peaked at #29 in the Swedish Chart. It didn’t work so well after all... so I don’t know if there’s a chance for a 3rd single. I guess the reason of the poor performace is the lack of physical single. Fans always buy the singles, and it pushes the sales a little.
AURYTE said on October 22, 2007 05:23:
But Jag Skulle Vilja Tänka En Underbar Tanke did quite well on the radio. It even reached number 9 or something like that on Sverige Topp 40!

Any news on the single?
The lack of news might seem to suggest that it got cancelled.
I would like to record the edited radio version.
Take care!

Obviously the single has been delayed, but that’s a good thing this time. It won’t be a promo only single anymore. More news to follow shortly.
