well...I would change the past incident where I was set up to be raped and then put in the hospital because of it. I wish that instead of going to the place I was at when it had happened, i wish i had gone somewhere else. If I had I would never have had to deal with the trauma and pain that came from it.

Lawyer: “My answer:Not saying to the person who loved me like hell.”
Not saying what,”...”?

If I could go back five years, I’d tell myself NOT to look back... now, if I did do that, this message would not be here! This is not here!

if i could change something,it’d be back in time 5 years ago ,when i was 18 and my life would be with less mistakes than today, but maybe its better to live with mistakes had something to regret and to miss.

Well I really dont know what caused it. But I would change my life somehow, and stop the things that has caused that im dealing with my second depression now. Its really hard to go through, and I would do anything to stop it.

Lovies, stop looking back... leave the past where it is!

There’s many things to look forward to if you could only remember to stay in the present moment!

No, no. Not depressing events. Maybe you dont know what a depression is. Its horrible.

My Grandma always tells me to look back at all the good things in LIFE!!!

Have Fun!!!

You’re grandma sounds like a wise woman - so long as reflecting on the happy moments of your past does not drive you to attempt to relive the past.

Reflection on positive memories can be good if it helps to balance the scales when we’re experiencing depression, by reminding us of The Big Picture, and the important things in life.

It’s also healthier to focus on “what I have” rather than “what’s missing”, to be optimistic and to look for something to be thankful for in every situation.

Example: missing the bus.

Wrong answer - “That damn bus driver came early again and I missed the damn bus, and now I’m bloody late for work, my job sucks and I can’t stand my boss, and I’m going to file an official complaint to the transit commission, and I hate everybody and I wish they were all dead.......”

Better answer - “Well, I was late catching the bus this morning, but I caught the next one and was only 15 minutes late for work. My boss wasn’t too pleased so I apologized and offered to make up the time by working late. I may not have the most exciting career; however, I’m happy to have a job that’s reasonably challenging and pays the bills and puts food on the table considering the fact that there are many others who are unemployed and homeless.”

A change in attitude will not solve everything, but it certainly helps. That said, if you have serious depression and suicidal thoughts, please get professional help! A family member was severely mentally ill; however, today she is living a much better life (and living independently) because we got her the help and support she needed.
