Roxette / Clouseau, both 20 years!

Sorry if this is an off topic discussion, but I doubted about where to put it, it didn’t seem to fit there eiter so...

Last Year, we celebrated Roxette’s 20th birthday.

Well this year the Belgian band Clouseau does it too. Does anyone remember them?

They were Roxette’s support act for a while on the European Joyride tour. Their first single came out in 1987. Their biggest international song was “Close Encounters” (1991). (check out their albums “close encounters” and “in every small town, they’re great)

They are still the hottest band in Belgium. Every year in december, about 250.000 people go to see them for their concerts in the Belgium Sportpaleis.

Their site is www.clouseau.be . Their aniversary isn’t mentioned yet on their site, they will celebrate it later on this year. But maybe it would be great for them if they see that some Roxettefans still remember them, I know they read the forum and guestbook sometimes.

Happy Birthday Clouseau :)

how can you be sure if they read this forum

I only know their song “Geef Het Op”, that represented Belgium in Eurovision ’91, held in Rome. I can say it’s one of my favourite songs that year. I like it even more than that year’s winner, the overrated Swedish doll Carola.

The curious thing is I used to think Clouseau was one of those bands created just to enter the contest, that disappear afterwards. I didn’t know they have been on the way for 20 years!

I’ve been to their concert in Antwerp last december. Still very good performance, and selling out 12 x 18.000 seats.... good job!

Yeah, the song “Geef Het Op” also exists in english. “Give It Up” It’s on their “close encounters” album. On this album they translated some of their biggest dutch hits to englisch.

I remember them as roxette’s support band. (i think it was the summer joyride?)
I thought they were awful though!

are they queen? :))))))))))
I remember “Anna” and “Close Encounters”.

na na na na na

i saw them at sheffield at rox concert 1992, cant remember much about them think i was too busy getting new tshirts and stuff when they were on lol
