LOL at the little 'Je T'aime' sounding keyboards/organ type thing...cool demo, I like it!

I’m the only one who thinks that Fool’s demo sounds like an Abba song? LOL

Awesome DEMO!!! (And “demo” is written in Caps for a reason)
The production on this is so much better than the final - I must say.
MrG, you outdid yourself with this one!
Cheers cheers

Ummmm the melody and verses are still cool like the original but Marie delivers an oustading vocal performance here in a “dressed for sucess - chapter II” sort of...
The intro is weird ... and I have the feeling this song was supposed to sound more dance-a-alike that a down to earth simples rocky track as it became ...
Hard to say now whether I like this demo or not.... strange really?
By the way: no it does not sound like ABBA i can tell you that? ABBA never had “computer games sounding songs” LOL and .... what the hell is that “Je T’aime” reference????
Recorded one day prior to “MWMLML”... ummmm that’s cool! :) Per must have had a lot of inspiration for new material around xmas time towards the end of 99...

sounds really cool, old skool computer game inspiration :D
I love how fresh these demos sound! :)

Whoa!!!! I was really hoping for that demo. It’s so great, I love it. The tune (for about 2 seconds) in the start sounds like “Take a chance on me” by ABBA, but for the rest it has nothing to do with it. I really love Mondays... and Roxette, of course.

Of course I still prefer the original as Marie sings it :p
but I must say this is the most interesting of the demos so far in this project, simply because of the differences in the production. Fool is my favourite song on RS and its interesting to see how the original demo sounded.

Great demo! It sounds a little “sixties” for me. This TCOTH and MWMLML is the kind of stuff that should have made it into the Box. Any idea where they can be downloaded?

The song sounds a bit strange, especially this samples or piano, but chorus (especially the first one) is really great. Much much better than in the final version. Full of energy, really driving. Album version is flat. I´ve always thought that most of the songs from Room Service are unnaturally simple and short.

Now after some listenings I have to say, that this version is much better that the album version. Without this terrible piano would be this song really great. With driving guitars, modern samples on the background, great strings, much better arangies, better ideas. Songs from RS aren´t bad but in comparison with maximalistic Rox songs from previous albums sounded like a brew-up. The same feeling with My World... These demos are better than final versions. TCOTH demo sounds also very very good. What has been wrong with this album?
Rox_Nox2003 said on December 4, 2006 21:54:
I don’t think that there is anything “hugely” wrong with the album. It was just that both Per and Marie wanted it to be short and simples ... smaller ballads and more upbeat ... why? Ask them! LOL
But when it comes to the demos ... I can’t really say that the demos themselves are trully better than the original versions but they show somehow that the songs on RS could have been more worked on, taken more advantage from their own quality ... the idea of beings short and simples toke away that potential saddly ... I always thought that MWMLML should have been longer and more epic cause it has everything to be that sort of song. Then Fool is cool ... like “Dressed for sucess” with Marie’s very own rocky atitute making it special. The demos kinda annoys me with this weird piano thing ... but at the same time I’m amused with this strange syth and strings u can here in the back ... reminding me of TCOTH ... for some reason LOL Anyway the guitar sound in the final version gives it another kick ...
Anyway the computer sound is hilarious LOOOOL What was on Per’s mind at the time? XBox game was on... and MP was losing? LOOOL

This was one of the demos I had in my wish list! I always liked Fool, the song is one of my favourites from Room Service. On the other hand, I don’t think the demo is superior to the album version. No way! It’s Marie who delivered the powerful chorus. Per’s voice is not that powerful, so I feel the song lacks something. Anyway, it is just a demo. At least, the song improved a lot when it was finally recorded.
My wish list for the Mondays to come:
- Stars
- Salvation
- A Thing About You
- Opportunity Nox
