Ballad Hits (Remastered) in the US

I am surprised to find tons of The Ballad Hits CDs (remastered) at my local Best Buy Store. It appears that TBH got released in the US ’cause iTunes US also now shows the album. Obviously, not promotion what so ever by the record company. Just trying to make easy $ i bet.

Yep, I can find a copy of ’The Ballad Hits’ at my local Best Buy stores as well. Sometimes ’Tourism’ is present as well. It was Capitol that released ’Ballad Hits’ in the U.S. back in April 2003, after Valentine’s Day. It’s a shame that the release wasn’t promoted prior to Valentine’s Day that year in the U.S. like in the U.K. I think it could have actually given the release a much bigger push sales-wise. Last I read was that the release has Soundscanned 13,000 units in the U.S.
But this brings up a good point. What will make this new hits collection any different? (Too funny. As I’m typing this “Dangerous” just came on my local radio station!) I do think, however, that this 2006 hits collection will sell better than ’Ballad Hits’ because of the strong tracklisting covering more than just their ballads. I don’t think we’ll see much in terms of promo from Capitol with either the single or the album. However, it’s always a pleasure to have Roxette material released in the U.S. after all these years. :)

Yep, released here, no promo, nothing...
Guess they better pull that greatest hits CD before the new one comes out, right? And it was Capitol (I think) that released the Ballad Hits here last time with no promo, why should this time be any different, I wonder?
