does anyone have these in better quality?

Hello,

Does anyone have:

“Do You Wanna Go With Me?”
“Always The Last To Know”

in good quality? I have them, but the quality is only 128k and not that great to listen to.

Thanks in advance...

:-)

I always heard 128 Kbps was “good quality” :D

I changed your topic title, please don’t put all words in caps next time.

128kbps is standard CD quality. If it sounds dodgy then the transfer was not done well

Using superb speakers, even 320 kbps are not close to CD quality.

I know that 128 kbps is the “floor” of good quality.

I’ve got those songs but they are 128 kbps as well, so I can’t help you.

I remember when these demos originally leaked I had them in 256 kbps mp3 bitrate quality. They all sounded very good. I have since lost my original mp3s when my computer crashed. I only burned them directly as an audio CD and not as data disc, so I no longer have access to the originals. If anyone has them, please let me know, too! Thanks. [email protected]

If you made an Audio CD out of 256 Kbps files, that means you can rip them in higher quality than 128, isn’t it? :|

Normal CD quality is 1440 kbps. High quality mp3’s should be either 320 kbps or 256 kbps, with 192 as the minimum level. Below this level, compression is very audible when you play it on good speakers.

However, I don’t think the mp3 compression is the problem with these files. Always the last to know have significant signs of recording overdrive (which meens that basically, the recording level was too loud, giving distortion on the vocal), and also both songs sound like they’ve been de-hissed and de-noised to at least moderate degree.

Obviously it was a demo, you can’t expect it to be mastered and all :|

and remember they were bootlegged so they WONT be good quality

I don’t know, some I have sound pretty good...I thik it depends on where you got them in the first place

Santi, making an audio CD out of 256 kbps mp3 files and converting them back to mp3 again is where there’s a problem. When ripping the tracks from the CD as mp3 they are then compressed again, diminishing the sound quality further.

Yes, they were bootlegged, but I still think the original leaked files sounded quite good for being such. Not all bootlegs have to sound bad. The latter shared versions became a problem, especially when someone decided to fade in the intro to “New World” for whatever reason.

i would also like this!! i lost the high quality files when my computer crashed as well :( is anyone willing to help!?!

I do have the high-quality 256 kbps files if anyone is interested.

Hello Thomas:

I am looking for the CD sleeve you made for those demos some time ago. Any chance to get it from you? Thank you in advance!

Hi Room-Service,

Were the covers green?

I think I still have them somewhere - the quality wasn’t that great but will post them later.

Mary
YES PLEASE!

Thanks Mary!

Only managed to download one so far as not a member of that site.

I can wait until later for the rest.

Thanks again :-)

Yes, Thomas. I remember the covers were green-tinted. You said they are not that good, but I kinda liked them. I don’t find the files anymore, so it would be nice if you could upload them again.

Thanks!

Helli

I have scans of the front and back of ’duets, demos and the odd live tracks’ which was a bootleg that they came from which came from one of the Record Collector sales in Holland some years back I believe. Scans not a great quality and not green!

Happy to upload - anyone suggest whats the best way (that’s doesn’t cost anything!)

Thank you, Mary!!!

thomasc, did you find the cover somewhere in you HD? I’d like to know!

Thank you.
