Additional EMI units sign on to release Rox20 material
Written by Rox-Van on September 14, 2006 to Releases.
(UPDATED) - Finland’s EMI unit will release the “Hits” CD and the Rox Box; Austria’s, Germany’s and Italy’s as well. The tracklists are the same as previously announced.
Argentina will also release the box, plus the “Hits” album - in a “Latin edition,” on October 24. According to Gabriela Toscano, a spokesperson at EMI Argentina, “Reveal” may be exchanged for “No Se Si Es Amor,” the Spanish version of “It Must Have Been Love.” A final decision has not yet been made, and it is possible that Brazil – another country likely to release the Hits – or some other Latin American EMI operating company, may make a different decision.
In conjuction with these releases, The Daily Roxette has learned that ringtones have been developed and will be marketed for “One Wish.”

Michael: Just because something is meant to be made available as a “worldwide” release, doesn’t automatically mean that all the EMI operating units will choose to pick it up. They’re free to decide for themselves if they think it would be a viable product in their market.

Are they crazy!!!! how can they replace a new Roxette song for an old one... unbelievable. That would make that edition worthless fans wants the next stuff not the old... that’s why most of the fans were angry about the Rox Box... I hope they don’t replace the song... that’s all i am saying or the Argentinian fans will be buying the CD on the internet. hehehe.

I suppose the ordinary man on the street would not be too bothered about getting ’reveal’, especially if they dont know if it exists. I suppose the ’hardcore’ fans are OK anyway if they were planning on buying the rox-box, as they dont need to buy the GH to get the new tracks

it is wonderfull that the box will be release here..although i am a bit suspissious about it...anywhay I think emi is making a big mistake by changing reveal for the Escolar song. that most of us hate.

this is just great. it´s the sort of news i´ve been waiting for for ages. now i´ll get the box in the record store next to my house rather than waiting for it to come from europe or something. jajaja!

That’s some great news! Also cool to see that there is something happening ’in public’ around rox20...
Besides that: Is the box or the hits-cd going to be released in the Netherlands???

I think that may be the Latin edition of GH adds one Bonus track in spanish. I don’t think they will remove “Reveal” from the album.

I don´t get it... I thought Un Día Sin Ti was the biggest hit off Baladas En Español... :S
Anyway, it´s great to know that they will include a spanish song in their hit-collection ;)

Oh no...hope in Brazil they didn’t exchange “Reveal” for “No se si es amor ” :(
EMI Brazil is always so lazy.... I would love to understand why they never decide anything in time.

I really hope that in Brazil be different of Argentina! No se si es amor is in Baladas en Espanol and many people here don’t like the spanish versions of Roxette Songs. And, by the way, in Brazil we speak PORTUGUESE and no Spanish.
roxettevsoasis said on September 15, 2006 00:33:
I wonder if EMI will put up the money for a nice spread in the Billboard magazine for Roxette like other record labels have done for other musicians/bands that reach a mildstone? I’ve been going to Tower Records hoping that I’ll run into it...but that’s probably going to be another wet dream....
Grasi said on September 15, 2006 01:57:
I really hope Brasil won´t get the latin edition of the GH, brazilian fans want the 2 new tracks, and prefer the Rox songs sung in english!
Anyway, if it is certain that Argentina will get the box, maybe this is a sign will have it here in BRazil too!

GREAT NEWS!! :)
I swear I can’t believe all these good news we are hearing from Roxette. I mean, most of us are disappointed, but it’s still great news!!! 4 years ago, we couldn’t even think about something like this.
Thank God for all this!!!! :D I hope the next step is... A WORLD TOUR!!!! :D

This is strange, cause I have emailed the local EMI and had no response until now.
tinylove, I don’t think it’s possible to add any bonus track to the compilation since the CD is full. They have to leave one track out in order to include the Spanish track. Same for Japan, no bonus track is possible. Replacing “Spending my time” for “Un dia sin ti” makes more sense, because the Spanish version was a smash hit (and one of the songs with more or less “acceptable” lyrics). I don’t think they are going to ommit “Reveal”, that’s stupid. All I want is the new GH with both new songs, I won’t buy the box set even if gets released here.
And regarding the set, I am suspicious. They have promised many things in the past that never came true. I don’t wanna be negative but I don’t trust in EMI at all.
I don’t think the Spanish track will be included for Brazil too. It will be present only for the Spanish-speaking countries (Latin American excluding Brazil and Spain).

I like they way the editors mention after every news update “THE TRACKLISTING IS THE SAME,” like they are praying for a change in the tracklisting.

Replacing “Reveal”?!? Per, did you see this? It’s a bit insulting, isn’t it?
Anyway, any release is good news I guess! :)

Replacing Reveal with the spanish version of an old song?! I dont speak spanish, but the general opinion is the spanish lyrics are rather lame, and in my opinion Marie’s vocal performance on No Se Si Es Amor below the original. I can see the reasoning behind wanting a spanish track, but why cant they just put it in place of the english version? And please use a better one like Quesiera Volar or if you want older, Habla El Corazon has a good vocal!!
