RJ1976, yes, WE have those tracks. But a single is for the public. So they can “discover” Roxette again. And to put Iy must have been love on the single is brilliant.
This single is 20 years of Roxette. :)
And we don’t really know if this is a different release either, right? The only thing we know about the single is that “Medley” should be a b-side, and it still is.
RJ1976 said on September 7, 2006 12:10:
Ja... ok youre right... But normally we get something more :S

Imagine:
Me, Aussie age 15, like One Wish.
Buy single
Listen to medley, think: Hey, I know those songs from when I was 3 and the oldie’s shows on the radio.
Listen to track 3 and 4: conclude that Rox is very old-fashion. Sound like my parents music...
A new, could be fan, has left the building

A Xmas-single at the end of September?
Isn’t that a bit early?
coyboyusa said on September 7, 2006 12:19:
if thats the international track listing for the single I’m not buying that either :( what the hell is going on
Starrox said on September 7, 2006 12:35:
IMHBL and TTM? What the ...? So now we not only get albums with songs we already have, but also singles? *LOL*
chrisjankunas said on September 7, 2006 12:43:
Hmm maybe they are hoping the single lasts in the charts until Xmas ???
If this one is coming out 29th September in Austria then the 25th September release for the Uk could actually be right !!!
Sascha said on September 7, 2006 12:53:
Maybe they release the UK edition? That catalogue number differs from OW at the roxette.se discography. The single is still not listed at roxette.de which normally is identical to AT and CH.
freddyhardest said on September 7, 2006 12:53:
It must have been love, right. But “Turn to me” ?, I doubt it has “hit” potencial for any casual listener. They should be more generous, with “Sleeping in my car”, for example.
chrisjankunas said on September 7, 2006 12:56:
Any predictions for the UK release tracklisting?
1. One Wish
2. It Must have Been Love
3. Listen To Your Heart
4. Fading Like A Flower
Heh heh I hope not - it could make the single more successful though.
room-service said on September 7, 2006 13:08:
Why do they not release a lower priced 2-Track-Single, if they have no idea or no material left to create a useful tracklist? ;-P
If the 29th september is right, the airplay date is much too late.
thenicekai said on September 7, 2006 13:15:
Geeeez, you are all so selfish. This is a single release for the public, not for 10 complaining fans from a forum. It is meant to support the success/comeback of the artists by giving the customer/listener a wider idea of what Roxette is/was able to create.
I really wonder why some of you are whining again. There has never been any word about this release containing surprises just for fans. And who of you has the RoxMedley officially in CD quality? Some of you may have it in medium mp3 quality from illegal sources (which is a shame for the true fan anyway), that’s it. So dont’t say you have it already. The two other tracks are hard to find for the average fan who does not buy everything available.
Remember, there are still “normal” people out there who have never even heard of a second (or rather first) version of IMHBL. Not to speak about the existence of Turn To Me.
Thanx for thinking before you reply. :-)
chrisjankunas said on September 7, 2006 13:18:
I have the Rox Medley promo cd so I have it already ;D
But yeah I agree with thenicekai - its why the Uk market for example usually includes the “hits” on their cds - since the UK is Roxette’s most unsuccessful market they like to include their hit songs to tempt the average person. With Listen To Your Heart and Fading Like A Flower as songs that UK people may be familiar with - thanx to the covers and remixes - it could be a good idea to include them !
BTW thenicekai - you forgot to mention that some may have it in medium quality from LEGAL sources as in iTunes ;)
Strest said on September 7, 2006 13:22:
They are NOT hard to find.
They’re both on the Pearls of Passion remastered CD from 1997. And it’s still in print (at a mid price).
I don’t care, I’m gonna buy the single either way, but I do think it’s rather odd to release a xmas-single at the end of September.
Kecho said on September 7, 2006 13:27:
AUT has better tracklist than only 2songs CDS One Wish + The Rox Medley...
thenicekai said on September 7, 2006 13:29:
@Strest: The average fan normally does not care about CDs that were released before the big career started. He simply doesn’t expect any hit on those releases (why should he, obviously they were not good enough to start the big career... if you know what I mean) and so he mostly ignores them. Sure, you find track 3 & 4 there, and you probably bought the disc. But again, most people out there regard Look Sharp as the first real Roxette CD.
gyllene_tjej said on September 7, 2006 13:30:
why IMHBL Xmas? Because getting every Roxette single feels like Xmas already ;) ;) Strange track selection indeed - from all the records why POP?;) But I’m buying the single anyway...wonder what Swedish tracklist is going to be.
Txiqui said on September 7, 2006 13:31:
I hope that we can get the same here in Spain.
:)
Roxette are BACK!!! and thats the most important thing!
whateveriam said on September 7, 2006 13:37:
Maybe they’re appreciating POP reiisue for the great pop album it is...
Strange, why those 2? Christmas reissue of IMHBL (CFTBH) on the way?
Strest said on September 7, 2006 13:44:
thenicekai: Either way, this POP got released in 1997 so if you became a fan with Look Sharp you might’ve gotten it about 10 years ago.
But this is not important, I’ve purchased many Roxette-singles where I’ve already got a couple of the songs...
What I do want to know is why they decided to go with these two tracks?
Sure, they’re b-sides so it doesn’t really matter (that much), but xmas-songs at the end of September?!
For a Reveal-release at the end of November (or so) it would’ve been a great choice, but not it just feels weird.
roxlad said on September 7, 2006 13:51:
Weird.... again, there is a lot we don’t have on cd quality (eg. I want you) that could have been picked but no more complaining for me, I’ll try to relax and enjoy the 20th anniversary.
GT_85 said on September 7, 2006 13:53:
In the UK (and america?) I think they should have:
1. One Wish
2. Must have been...
3. Opp Nox
4. The Rox Medley
Austria is also good. But not maybe for the markets in UK/US.
Strest said on September 7, 2006 13:55:
’I want you’ wasn’t released on EMI and it’s not just Roxette so there might be a problem with including that. I don’t know?
It has been released on CD though, but it’s hard too find since both compilations have been out of print for quite some time.
Sascha said on September 7, 2006 14:30:
Maybe the reason for the POP songs was all the moaning about the absense of POP songs on ’Roxette Hits’..?
GT_85, your tracklist is almost the same. Just the switch of TTM with ON. I could imagine this IS the UK tracklist!
PinkBlond said on September 7, 2006 14:33:
It Must Have Been Love (Christmas For The Broken Hearted) Is different mix than It Must have Been love.
carbon_boy said on September 7, 2006 14:37:
Good God! You ppl STILL complaining?!
So what if it has IMHBL(Xmas) and TTM is on it?! The general public wouldnt buy it for the bsides. The Rox Medley is more than enough.
Sure I could also question TTM as I wouldve replaced it with some mix of The Big L (Seeing that its not on the GH). But why do you care?
There is just no pleasing you people. Be thankful you wont have to import the single like myself.
Cheers... pfff....
nusaderenda said on September 7, 2006 14:39:
Turn to me??? That’s strange...I like the song. Heh, heh, but why don’t they put Neverending love on the GH album if POP suddenly is such a good album? I don’t have the Rox medley, where does that come from?
Strest said on September 7, 2006 14:41:
nusaderenda: It’s available at iTMS and it’s also been released on a promo to the radio stations.
pinkblond: If that’s a question then yes, they’re different.
carbon boy: “So what if it has IMHBL(Xmas) and TTM is on it?!”
Well, not many artists release xmas songs at the end of September...
“There is just no pleasing you people.”
It’s the same case as with the box. Two album tracks added instead of something new.
I am, however, pleased with the single as a whole since I’m not too keen on downloading music from iTMS.
rox-kuryliw said on September 7, 2006 15:49:

*Good point Kei*
But I’m still astonished... since yesterday evening when I found this information, and shared it with the daily roxette (4 tracks :O)...

Well,I have to introduce myself as a brand new member of this community. After reading all of your comments,in my opinion as an old rox fan,it’s really very pleasant to me to have them back,I don’t care about b-sides,old tracks or reissues...ONE WISH...ONE NEW SINGLE...is more than enough...Don’t you think?...Hugs from Argentina.
roxtexanet said on September 7, 2006 17:39:
This is indeed a really curious tracklisting! Roxette often recycle their b-sides (how many times has “The Sweet Hello...” and “The Voice” shown up as b-sides now?), I’m sure they were just going through the ones they had and thought, “Oh, we haven’t put these out in awhile, maybe some of the newer fans will appreciate having them on CD” - who knows? Very weird!
Jud (moderator) said on September 7, 2006 18:02:
Most singles in Austria are maxi-singles, and most of them with 4 tracks. Of course, the couple of fans that are left in Austria are not the target of this release ;) but those who go to Saturn and buy a couple of singles weekly. I think it’s a nice way of getting a song, the other day I bought MJ Bleige’s single (with U2) which comes with 3 very nice songs, and Christl’s “Nie Genug” - which also comes with some extra nice tracks. IMHBL and Turn to me are great songs which sure give the feeling to get more of The Rox :)
If this is an AT release only, I also take orders :P Normally these maxis are 4.99-5.99 EUR. “I need 50 maxis of “One Wish”” :P
etrejos said on September 7, 2006 18:42:
I always loved ’Turn to me’ but it is indeed an odd choice of b-sides... very Roxette-retro
Strest said on September 7, 2006 19:48:
abysmo: One wish will hit the Australian market via the greatest hits, but this single is for the Austrian market.
abysmo said on September 7, 2006 20:04:
Oooohhhh. I´m blind. Australia and Austria. So similar names. Sorry.
But as i said. Be happy that new Rox song is coming. B-sides are not so important. 4 track single is better than 2 track. Single is for public, not for fans, as said Thenicekai. There´s only one verse of christmas in IMHBL. Nobody outside fanbase knows it´s a christmas song. September - what about Per´s Indian Summer?
roxtexanet said on September 7, 2006 20:33:
@abysmo: Or “Wish You the Best” (“September rain should fall somewhere else”) (-:

There isn’t a roxfan base without complaning LOL we have to get used to that, that is what fuels our motivation to state “we are roxette fans” because we disaprove everything all the time! LOL
Ok the tracklist is a bit strange but it doesn’t bother me ..I mean why not? LOl I always loved “Turn To Me”! :)
coyboyusa said on September 7, 2006 21:23:
we’re complianing for the same reason we complained about they box, they are yet again shoveling recycled stuff down our throats to get our hands on one or 2 songs, if thatsa me being selfish the so be it, this is just really offensive to anyone who’s invested and sincere interest in the band...that’s what we get for believing in soemthing...damn i should know better
LuckyStar said on September 7, 2006 21:59:
In my opinion the tracklist is horrible (always IMHBL in every release...so boring!).
At least in cd maxi single, I want live versions or new “One Wish” mixes...not usual songs!!!

To thenicekai
I will be buying the single, but would like to point out to you that the Rox Medley wasn’t available for illegal downloads.
I downloaded mine from iTunes after paying the $1.69 Australian fee for it. I have a receipt to prove it.
Btw, the iTunes quality is superb especially on the iTunes HIFI.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roxette must have the weirdest, all over the place, single tracklists ever! haha!!
Two Christmas-related songs in September? (There’s a reference to X-mas in TTM, too.) And again, these songs are available already. And imo, TTM isn’t that good a song...
What the hell is going on with Per?! Is he getting a little old for this?
rox-kuryliw said on September 8, 2006 09:37:

I don’t think anyone is NOT appreciating Roxette’s comeback, it is just that THEY are no appreciating us - the fans - that much! We have most of the stuff they are offering us, come on, 20 years of Roxette, and they really can’t offer us anything un-heard and more special?! Roxette is still my favourite band but anything regarding their 20th anniversary has been quite poor! Can you really disagree?

I have to say this is a strange tracklist ...It must have been love should not be included because everyone already knows that song...
Also they shouldnt mix those old songs with the new single(except for the rox medley) better would be:
1. “one wish”
2. “one wish remix”
3. a newer song like “Breathe” or the likes
4. “the rox medley”
