Hello!!
A number of people seem to be interested in holding another fan meeting (or maybe just a general get together) towards the later half of this year. So rather than use the original thread (I was getting fed up of clicking to get to the latest page!!)
So the idea of this thread is just to put all the ideas together and see what people wanna do!
I’ll be up for anything, but maybe not another meal at Bella Italia!! :-)

Somewhere near Stansted would be nice! In fact they’ve got a couple of pubs in the airport so maybe fans from all over Europe could meet up sometime and get plastered before kipping on rows of seats then getting cheap Ryanair flights home at 6:30am the next morning :-)

Sounds cool to go here I think. But what’s in the nearest town, which I think is Uttoxeter?? Apart from a racecourse that is. We’d need somewhere to quench our thirst after all those rides!!

There are pubs on site at Alton Towers, and in the hotels obviously (if people were staying there)
Plus the town of Alton is very sweet, I am not sure how many pubs there are tho as I am not really a big drinker.

I’ve just been reading the threads about the 1st fan meeting. How did it ever take place?? All the waiting and now it’s all over. Just strange.
Anyway, moving swiftly on before I mist up (not), Alton Towers seems to be looking possiblé. Any suggestions on dates?? Maybe towards the end of their seasons, prices will be down and they’ll be now screaming kids running round (hopefully).

If a number of people are thinking of Alton Towers, then you really need to go before the silly season, either before the end of May, or the first 2 weeks in September (as soon as the kids have gone back to school & the weather is still good) or else you will never get on any rides as it is packed.
From certain areas you can get a deal on the train:

as there isn’t a close train station they offer a coach and entry to the park as well, but I guess people would have to check at their local station.
I only have a mini, but I can probably pick a few people up from the station (as long as they travel light lol!!) I live on the blob that says ’Stoke’ btw...

i stayed in a hotel that was opposite belle vue dog track cos it was near the hockey centre down the road (both built for the commonwealth games), when we went out to a pizza hut nearby we had to ring a bell for them to open the door apprently its cos they’d been robbed before ;-)

That would be fine for me. I will be working on the fri and mon though, so it will be a whistlestop trip for me.
1 suggestion I would make is that we meet up in a place where it is more possible to socialise as a group for the first part of the night. The problem with the restaurant last time was that the table was long and thin, so it wasnt really possible to have a chat as a group at the start of the night. would be good if people could get to know each other a bit first. Even if we met for a couple of drinks in a quiet(ish) bar where we could sit/stand in a circle before going on for a meal it might be quite good. Or we could always scrap the meal altogether and just go out and get pissed!
