I went to a grand wedding six weeks ago. I knew the bride from my office, working with her about 8 years. It was apparent that she should not be marrying the idiot to whom she was betrothed. So, they had a HUGE wedding, as though to convince themselves that the relationship was permanent. The church ritual went on forever, and then the reception – at a local luxurious equestrian center, with performing horses and everthing – featured broiled lobster with grilled steak for everybody, as much as you could eat. The bride and groom came to the horse place from the church in a rented Rolls Royce, accompanied by motorcycle escorts. It was FABULOUS.
And yep, they got separated just last week. If you feel like you need to have a magnificent wedding ceremony in order to prove, in the face of doubt, that you really love each other, then you are probably barking down a dry well.

Three years ago my best friend got married after 10 years with her boyfriend, it was a beautiful ceremony and a small but absolutely enjoyable party, just because they were (and fortunatelly they are) completely in love.

Yeah my best friends daughter got married 3 years ago this August, they had been togeather since she was 16 they got married when she was 25, they just went away abroad for a 2 week holiday and wedding... the photos look great :)

M still in Uni, so marriage is still not in my diary. I don’t even like guys (sorry guys!) I was referring to Fijian guys. They demand a lot.

ally, if I understood correctly, you mentioned kids maybe but you wouldn’t like a partner (as in husband). Trust me, I grew up without a father, you wouldn’t wanna do that to your kids. :(
Anyway, I’m hoping me and my boyfriend will finally start living together sometime in August... We are still waiting for the house to be built to move in... And of course, wedding will not be far away from that. :D Can’t wait, although I’m a little bit scared... :))
