Beer

It’s the “wine of the grain.” Ben Franklin said, “Beer is proof that God loves us, and wants us to be happy.”
The best beer I’ve ever had was home-made by friends who really got into it, with all sorts of recipes and such. They joined a local home-brew organization, and they LOVED the meetings. They said the meetings always started out very serious and organized, then rapidly deteriorated for some reason.
My favorite is Shiner Bock.... but a few German dark varieties are providing stiff competition. Beer is great with Mexican food and with steak, and especially at the beach on a hot summer day. The best “beer” book is Steinbeck’s “Cannery Row” – the main character, Doc, enjoyed nursing a bit of beer during his every waking hour. I wish I had a job which would allow that.
But I have to work hard for a living. As they say, “Life isn’t all beer and skittles.” Why, I haven’t had a skittle in YEARS.

Becks, Carlsberg Export, Kronebourg 1664 & Staroprammen are my favs but they are lighter beers.
Have been known to dabble with John Smiths & Boddingtons also ;-)

The first beer I have been drinking, was one of the best. I liked it immediately.
I tend to go for the more “blond” beers.
Guinness is not really my cup of tea [or beer:) ]
In the Netherlands I always have Amstel.

Amstel is good, Grolsch on the other hand is not, i hate that stuff ;-)

I don’t drink too much beer really. Find it fills me up too quick. I’ll have 3-4 pints then move onto vodka and coke & vodka and red bull, depending how tired I am!

When I was in Germany last year I tried a few different beers, no idea what their names were but there was one real dark one that was almost like tar, it was weird!
I prefer lighter beers personaly, never even thought of brewing my own......now theres a thought.....VixzterBeer
