’I predict a riot’ is all about being about in town on a saturday night when the pubs and clubs kick out, and its so true!!
Watching the people get lairy
Is not very pretty I tell thee
Walking through town is quite scary
And not very sensible either
A friend of a friend he got beaten
He looked the wrong way at a policeman
Would never have happened to Smeaton
And old Leodiensian
La-ah-ah, la la lalala la
Ah-ah-ah, la la lalala la
I predict a riot, I predict a riot
I predict a riot, I predict a riot
I tried to get in my taxi
A man in a tracksuit attacked me
He said that he saw it before me
Wants to get things a bit gory
Girls run around with no clothes on
To borrow a pound for a condom
If it wasn’t for chip fat, well they’d be frozen
They’re not very sensible
La-ah-ah, la la lalala la
Ah-ah-ah, la la lalala la
I predict a riot, I predict a riot
I predict a riot, I predict a riot
And if there’s anybody left in here
That doesn’t want to be out there
Watching the people get lairy
Is not very pretty I tell thee
Walking through town is quite scary
And not very sensible
La-ah-ah, la la lalala la
Ah-ah-ah, la la lalala la
I predict a riot, I predict a riot
I predict a riot, I predict a riot
And if there’s anybody left in here
That doesn’t want to be out there
I predict a riot, I predict a riot
I predict a riot, I predict a riot

an english (british?) phenomenon!!!? don’t the pubs there now have ’proper’ trading hours or did i hear wrong?
Vixzter said on February 28, 2006 17:23:
apprently so, but still most pubs will close at around midnight, what most do now is open alot earlier and serve alcohol from say.....9am instead of whatever it was before. (11 i think) the pubs and bars still have to apply for an extended licence
if we were to enjoy the so called relaxed licencing hours it would also mean a change in the way we work, what hours we work what time we go out in the evening etc but so far nothing has changed much expect i could now buy a beer at 9am if i wanted to have one with my breakfast ;-)
the song would still hold relevance as thats what happens in alot of town centres on a saturday (in particular) night

i’ve been in a pub having breakfast at 9am and some guy ordered a pint of bitter and a double smirnoff with the slightest dash of coke, he was on his own so i’m assuming he was visiting the AA straight after he drank them ;-)

I’ve always thought that strange. Guernsey pubs are open later than pubs in the UK & Jersey. Ours stay open till 1, with clubs kicking out at 3.
About the Kaiser Chiefs. I’ve had their album for ages and love it!!
