Ace of Base participating in the NOTP!

According to aceofbase.com AOB will take part in this year’s Night of the Proms tour. They’ll perform 20 shows in Antwerp with a line-up consisting of Jenny, Ulf & Joker.
Too bad Linn isn’t going...thought she was returning in the lime light. Not that I was planning to travel to Belgium...

they don’t have enough descent songs to warrant a night at the proms

Not enough decent songs? Every artist/group only plays a couple of songs - I think Roxette were only supposed to play six songs, I can’t see AOB getting more songs than that - and they certainly can come up with up to six songs!

@ above
I agree! Their songs can easily be transformed into orchestral orientation. Even Roxette were supposed to play “Dressed for Success” and “Joyride” in 2002 - can any of you imagine violins in those songs? :)

Do you know which songs Roxette was supposed to play? In general all acts play their greatest hits, no new songs. Ace Of Base will only play 3 songs, they’re not the headliner. Probably All That She Wants, The Sign and another one.

I suppose they won’t play All That She Wants because Linn performed the lead vocals on the original track.
Always Have, Always Will and Life Is A Flower could be possibles, as they were hits across Europe.
Sascha said on September 1, 2005 13:43:
Yes, but they’ve done that before, performing Linn songs with Jenny. The difference: Normally it’s just lip syncing.
Starrox said on September 1, 2005 21:32:
@Sascha: I didn’t know all songs for sure anymore, but I did some digging and they had six songs to choose from: Joyride, WICF, CBB, IMHBL, TL and DFS...

Hasn´t Roxette played in NOTP before?. As regards “Ace of Base”, I specially like “Living in danger”.

I saw Ace of Base last Saturday at the Night of the Proms. They played The Sign, All that she wants, Beautiful Life and Life is a Flower.
And yes, Linn wasn’t there as expected, but Jenny did a great job, also at the end of the show, singing with Donna Summer (State of Independence).

Yes, Linn is the blonde one and I’ve been told that she’s afraid of flying and that she’s doesn’t want to be in the spotlight (anymore). She’s going to sing on the new album though :)

Strange... when is NOTP? Which months?
Thanks.
