which was your best live gig ever, exept roxette?

for me it was eurythmics with the tour after the reunion. sorry, can’t remember the name of the tour, but the gains where for greenpeace.

annie lennox is on records a really, really great singer with an excellent voice. but annie lennox is live such a much much more nicer singer than you ever can expect on the records. she celebrate the songs in a way and never heard something before.

ps: in german you say you become “hühnerhaut” when you listen to something like annie lennox

:-)

except Roxette GT of course, Skövde last summer as PG looked at us, hehehe :D

Gotta be Alanis Morrissette in 1999 and also last month! :)

Either the first time I saw within Temptation live in Tivoli (when they were still good and underground), or when I first saw Nightwish on their wishmaster tour :D

No doubt about this:

Gyllene Tider, 4 august 2004 in Örebro, Eyravallen.

@colin: Within Temptation is STILL good, last week they reached the nr. 1 spot in Spain.

Must be Bryan Adams in Murcia, 1997. That day was just so weird I can never forget it. And the music superb!! Keith Scott is an awesome guitar player, made my day... well, my month... well, my year :D

I want to go to Within Temptation’s gig in Amsterdam next july, anybody wants to come along?? :)

Melissa Etheridge! Oh, that woman really rocks!

Ana Torroja & MIguel Bosé (Girados) in november 2001
Grat show & Great sound

The Rolling Stones in Bilbao, Bruce Springsteen in Zaragoza or maybe Bon Jovi in Madrid, mmm the three shows where great.

@harriej, thats a matter of taste....their album Enter, with the grunts of George from Orphanage...THAT was awesome :D and now half of the band is different :P

Ofcourse GT in halmstad this summer was my best gig after roxette, but thats abvious :P

@kroeby1: Annie Lennox??
She can’t sing!

@crashroxer

believe me, she can sing extremely on a high level. live marie is an apprentice vs. annie.

^^What?!^^

When I read the subject I inmediatly thouht about the Annie Lennox concert of her latest album BARE. It was really the best concert I’ve ever seen (besides Roxette) Annie really plays the audience! Same feeling during the Peace-tour she toured as being one of the Eurythmics. If I remember it well, Per went to see them in Stockholm back then.

Bon Jovi, New Jersey 2003! The last gig of the tour, in their hometown! Unbeatable. Beats any Roxette gig, except maybe for Unplugged. Apart from that Gyllene Tider at Ullevi and Stadion... Wow!

last summer, GT in skövde, aah I will never never forget it, it was wonderful! And actually, my only concert I ever have been at, but I’m just 14 years old... Wish so much a concert next year with per, or that Roxette will reunite again. But it was however wonderful, the concert last year, summer and 21.000 people. And I began to dance with a girl I never had seen before, and we screamed and sang together too. I almost started to cry when “När alla vännerna” ended, it was one of the best days in my life. =)

Gotta agree with Tev, Saw Bon Jovi on the Bounce tour in London July 2003, and they were amazing. Really energetic! They played for just over 3 hours, to just under 100,000 people! Something I’ll never forget. Can’t wait for next tour next year

Tina Turner (TwentyFourSeven Tour) & Annie Lennox (Bare)

it must be Our Lady Peace in Stockholm, 2002. It was a fantastic gig. There was only 200 persons there but we were all fans.

I am not counting Gessle or GT gigs.

A little freaky, but I have to say Marilyn Manson is really good live!

“except Roxette GT of course, Skövde last summer as PG looked at us, hehehe :D”

Just what I wanted to write too! ;-) Still daydream about it...

*GG*

@gyllene tjej: :-*

Savatage in Tilburg or maybe the first time I saw Stef Bos live. Big difference between those two though. Savatage: screeming and headbanging. Stef Bos: quiet and intimate in a theatre..

@flower

thank’s for the support. think we have a ignorant marie fan with crashroxer, someone who don’t see that other musicians also can make nice music. or maybe better music at all. (ok, it is hard to beat marie, but i think annie is better than marie live)

Except Roxette:

- april 16th 2005 Prague - Queen + Paul Rodgers

Bee Gees- One Night Only, Sydney 1999.

Yeah I forgot to mention GT! **whoops**

The best concert I have ever seen was Tina Turner in Munich, 1996, start of the European Tour. I have NEVER seen again such a GREAT concert. It was just overwhelming and is directly followed by Peter Maffay, who was a blast as well.
Roxette isn’t even in the Top ten list. The CBB concert I saw in Frankfurt was really great, but RS tour was just boring and always the same, evening after evening. I would have expected them to be a little bit more easy, but instead they seemed to be a bit too anxious about everything.

As I mentioned before, the Gyllene Tider concert i visited last summer was the best concert I’ve ever been to (including the Roxette-concerts).

But since GT is a bit Roxette-related, people might want to know what the best one was I visited which was not Roxette-related.
In that case i come to: The Corrs, 30 october 2004 in Ahoy.

See:
http://homepages.ipact.nl/~sommartider/tickets/tickets.html
I have rated all concerts I have been to on a scale from 1 to 10.

I wish I could’ve seen roxette live at some point. But as far as any other bands, ive seen the steve miller band in 96, metallica(deftones, linkin park, limp bizkit, and mudvayne summer sanitarium tour 2003) and metallica once again with godsmack in 2004. Both concerts in the U.S but none the less really fun. who knows if roxette comes back i might have to fly over to see one of their concerts sence i don’t think they will play the states any time soon.

the best shows I have ever seen

#1 by far:

1. Melissa Etheridge in Hamburg and Munich. I only hope she won’t tour so soon again (first of all I hope she gets well).. because we want to see her in as many shows as possible the next time, and that means €€€ :) Oh is she good!! I was warned that as soon as I’d see her live once, I would want to go to more of her shows .. and now I feel I would never get enough. I hope she takes Philip - that guy is simply amazing with the guitar.

Then come
2. Eva D in Sthlm 99
3. Suede somewhen in 98 (?) or so in Barcelona.
4. Bon Jovi Barcelona in 96 (or 97? don’t remember anymore).

(PS: this is including Rox ;))

1. Robbie Williams live in Mannheim 03
2. Robbie Williams live in Hannover 03
3. Robbie Williams live in Berlin (2x) 03
4. Robbie Williams live in Prague 03
5. Bryan Adams live in Leipzig 04

....Best concerts?? Hummmm... Gotta THINK (awww - that hurts)!!! ...Pink Floyd in Gothenburg 1994 is really a fave of mine :) ..But besides I have great memories from REM live in Roskilde (festival) 1995, Bob Dylan (2 gigs), Rubrig (about 4 gigs) and Big Fat Snake (Danish band) as well as Allan Olsen (Danish musician).. Difficult to choose... ...I like so much music, it doesn’t make sence to list all concerts *hehe*

the Darkness, November 2003, at the Astoria London
awesome

Robbie Williams, Summer 2003, in Dublin, Phoenix Park HANDSDOWN! 140.000 Fans attendet!!! It was amazing!

pj harvey and marilyn manson back in 1997
i can’t choose between them

Bruce Springsteen ( both solo and with the E Streeters)
Paul Simon in Ahoy in 2002 or so

this is tough,

Maybe Strokes, barrowland 2002
Scissor Sisters, barrowland 2004
or Brainpool.

The Scissor Sisters, I’d say. Pop genius, filling the gap where roxette used to be.

And on that earlier debate. Annie Lennox has a better voice than Marie. Marie has more grit though.

The Darkness at wembley last year

or

Terrorvision @ the forum in London this year

vixter: you mean terrovision from that song alice what the matter. if so i didn’t know they still exists.
they rock!

frisso: yea! thats Terrorvision, they split up ages ago but they just recently did a mini tour, they rocked as ever!

should have a dvd coming out at some point as they were filming at the gig in London.

Finaly i found someone who’s heard of them :D

yea, I have regular urban survivors by terrorvision, its great!

I think the darkness kinda copied them

Thats cool that they are together again!

vixter: wish i was there
