Well, Roxette is a nice band, lol.
I also like Europe a lot. Saw them live here in Belgium last year, standing on the first row in front of Mr. Tempest himself. Their new album is also great.

I like The April Tears (their song “Model, actress... whatever” is greeeat! :D)
Then there is Neneh Cherry and her brother Eagle-Eye Cherry (though I don’t like them so much).
Wilmer X and Sverige are also nice sounding bands. (I think Wilmer X harmonica player is the responsible for the awesome harmonica solo in Roxette’s Dangerous).
My favs are Kent, and that is certainly rock music.
And on other kind of things, for absolutely gorgeous music (regardless of styles) I would recommend you to listen a band called GARMARNA. From them I like especially the CD called Vengeance (they sing in Old Swedish), and among all those songs I reckon that “Bläck” (Ink) is a masterpiece.

here´s one you hear too rarely: Stakka Bo. He´s a genius.
If you are in a hilarious mood try Army Of Lovers, Bodies Without Organs and Rednex :)

@frisso: On his official website you can read this in the biography that it includes:
“Lars Johann Yngwie Lannerback was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on the last day of June, 1963.”

I’m very fond of The Cardigans, Long gone before daylight is a very nice album. If I remember it well it was voted best national album in 2003, above Mazarin...
