Long bus transfer but they run regular and they are comfortable! :) the bus from the airport will take you direct into the city centre... :)

Last January we went to Stockholm via Skavsta.
When you arrive there you can buy tickets for the busses which go straight to Stockholm (only 1 stop somewhere halfway).
If I remember correctly they are called flygbussen (or something like that).
We bought those tickets in the central hall, at a ticketmachine. It is possible to pay with credit card.
If I remember correctly, the price was 199 SEK.
The bus takes about 1.5 hour to go to Stockholm.
We didn’t have to wait very long for the bus (I think they know when the plane is arriving and the busschedule is probably adjusted to these times)
Nice things to do/see:
- Make a tour with a boat (Stockholm is beautiful from the water)
- Visit the icebar
- Gamla Stan (the old city centre)
- Visit the city hall (if it is open)
- Drottningholm castle
Have fun!

you flying ryanair? :P
there you’ll find all info about it :) Costs 199sek return ticket and it seems to take about 80 mins. It stops in Södertälje (something in between Norrköping/Skavsta + Sthlm) and Skärholmen.
The buss to Sthlm seems to leave about 30 mins after the plane has landed.
[sigh, now I see info is also in English, well, anyway]
Re. what to visit.. other’s already posted very nice locations to see. How long are you staying there? :)

That ship oam is talking about sank during the first trip, and not very far from the harbour. I have been in there, but it certainly smells weird, or at least it did when I went :D
Jud (moderator) said on April 10, 2005 19:52:
lol Santi, they have to keep it humid because it spent so much time under water that if they would keep it in a dry atmosphere it would break/damage... and humid wood stinks ;)

Skavsta isn’t Stockholm even though they say so. Skavsta is about 100 miles south of Stockholm, but they say there are bus transfers available.
