Religion

I am a bit disappointed in how “The Pope” topic turned into such a backbiting event by some of the people who where supposedly upset over his death, mainly reading other people’s comments and twisted what was said.... It was almost like they where looking to argue with people. I don’t think it needed to be archived but it has been now and that’s the end of that…

Religion is religion at the end of the day, and although I am no Catholic I respect that people loved this man as the head of there religion and will be upset by his death, but at 84 and having served his church for 26 years people have to remember he has died but has not been forgotten, and in future history he will always be remembered….

Towards the end of the evening some people thought “The Pope” topic was a place to have a go and make stupid comments, you’d think in this world that people even if they where not religious could have just a tad respect for him and the people who are mourning him right now ALL around the world. If The Pope means nothing to you and your don’t care he is dead, then why bother telling us on a topic entitled “The Pope”, I find it just ignorant and petty… or perhaps you gained pleasure from making stupid one liner comments on his death...

The same thing happened in the AOL Christian Chat room last night, a lot of Christians around the world are mourning his death also but many religions use this chat room and last night was a place for them to talk but it was spoiled by people jumping in with nasty comments which just makes me so annoyed… It’s no wonder the world is like it is...

I am no angel and the eBay joke was just a joke, I have no intention on selling my mothers letter from The Pope on eBay, she would not part with it for the world…. Perhaps my joke was out of taste, but just because someone is sick and dying does not mean people cannot have a joke…. I apologise if that joke offended anyone.

I have respect for The Pope, and I’ll admit he has been in my prayers for a few days. It’s sad he’s gone but suffering from what he has had for the past couple of months I think everybody would go to say it’s better to be dead now, than continue suffering anymore than needs be.

Rest In Peace…

Ally77, nice words. Thanx.

Your welcome.... :)

All I can say is also : Great words! I wouldn’t say it better :)

I agree with you, Ally. I am not Catholic either. but I DO respect the pope and I know he’s a great guy and so inspiring to many ppl.

Well said Alison. Very sad that some people can be so cruel to a person who’s dieing...

I think it is disturbing and disrespectful and macaber to show his body like that. They didn’t let him die in peace (the last images on Easter Sunday are simply sad and heartbreaking) and now they won’t let him rest in peace. Who wants enemies to have “friends” like that :O

It makes me laugh when I read things like these, regarding The Pope’s death:

“Why aren’t they all crying for every single soul that leaves Earth? For me he’s not more than a child in Ethiopia that dies because he has nothing to bring to his mouth or anybody who died or lost family/everything he/she had in Thailand or was killed in a robbery”

“Pope greatest person? Hmm, what have he done? Did he make world peace, did he found cure against HIV?”

Well, let me say something. Don’t flame me, I’m a Roxette fan and I specially love Marie Fredriksson (I was very upset when she became ill). But why all the people prayed when Marie was ill? She’s not more important than a child in Costa Rica who has leukemia, or than an old man that has cancer in the prostatic gland, in India. Buy nobody prayed for those people, they prayed just for Marie Fredriksson.

Specially for all those hard-core, obssesed and blind fans, who have builded an altar for Roxette: what have Roxette done? Did they make world peace, did they found cure against HIV. Of course not. But you come here everyday, looking for news about a pop-group. And you went crazy when that joke about Roxette’s new album was online. Roxette didn’t do anything for the world either, but for some of you, they deserve more respect than the Pope, an historical person. The Pope has done more for the world than Roxette, but it didn’t worth to pray for the Pope’s eternal rest. But you have prayed for Marie. I don’t say she she didn’t deserve it. She’s young and she has children to take care of. It would be very sad if something would happened to her. But in your oppinion, a pop-group is more and deserves more respect than a historical person.

You should grow up, people...

Finally somebody said the whole truth here.
