Eurovision 2005

You know someone had to a topic on this didnt you lol, iv only done it cos UK had there choice for the uk entry tonight on TV . Its a good winner this year aswell for a change just . Was a close call between ’Javine’ or a women called ’Jorden’ ; who i will let you know is so foul, has had big boob job fake hair fake lips! does naked shots for magz the rest and cant sing to save her life, publicity queen classy bird all in all lol, i cant believe she came second , THE WORLD HAS GONE MAD!!!! Javine won which im glad at she can sing well live. similar song to last years but more pop to it. i like.

Does anyone else know who will sing for there country yet ? i read UK was gonna have Alcazar at one point which would of been good. But never mind

Listening to Jorden attempting to sing was embarrasing.

Thank goodness the UK had to good sense to vote for Jasmin and not Jorden.

Good lord that Bigboobedbimbo seriously needs a tuning fork job! She was SOOOOO bad it was unwatchable. I went and de-nited my nieces instead, which was much more entertaining!

We just choosed this evening the song that will represent Croatia on Eurovision. It is not bad song, there were much worse in the show lol. It’s very average with the mix of pop and ethno sounds. It won’t be in first 5 in Kiev, that’s sure, but nothing can be worse than last year’s croatian song.

I liked to watch Eurovision contests before, but it is becoming boring with the years and rare are the songs that I really like. I watch it rather for fun.

Jordon looked like a giant BARBIE doll, that was pregnant! jeez that pink cat suit was just so foul, and who the hell told her she could sing.....

I said Javine from the start, and the song is good but let’s hope she wears something that covers her up a bit better, what is it with thinking the less you wear the futher you get in life....

Still even with Javine in the running for the UK we won’t win! but the song is okay.....

As a big Eurovision fan for many moons last year I said I would not watch but as always I will be sat there waiting for those results...

Whoops, no I’ll take that back, I won’t be watching this year as I’ll be in Sweden on 21st May and will be touring the pubs of Gothenburg! :) but I might if I get near a phone ring up a vote for the UK! :)

That’s cunning... plan a trip to a foreign country then vote for your own :-P Ha ha, I wonder if Eurovision enthusiasts do that intentionally?! Rich

Ha Ha.... no it’s bad cause I normally vote for Sweden and I can’t this year... :( I knew when we booked the trip, something was telling me “Ain’t you sure something happens around that time in May” and I relised this week it was Eurovision... ahhh well beer in Gothenburg or beer in the hotel with Eurovision....

> no it’s bad cause I normally vote for Sweden and I can’t this year...

I know what you mean... I usually vote for Sweden too... their song is usually far superior to the one from the UK! ;-)

im SOSO glad people agreed with me. I LOVE swedish song last year. They do great POP . Im half ukraine so had to vote for them last year aswell lol.

People said that the Ukraine song was bad and they just won because of the visual performance (which probably did get them the extra votes they needed to win). But I also liked the song! I listened to 30 second clips of the songs online (without seeing videos) and ranked Ukraine 3rd, behind Sweden and Albania :-)

I gotta admit, the Ukraine looks like a nice place to plan a holiday.... :) I said when the eurovision was held in Estonia I would visit, perhaps I will later this year... so many places I want to go!

id love to go to all them little counties aswell, i mean spain is nice but its the same commerical abit, although im sure they are still lovely places in spain :). Alnd ukraine is big i know , but im mean little as not popular.

I noticed that Easyjet fly to Tallinn and Ryanair + Easyjet fly to Riga... so it’s probably quite easy to do a cheap tour of Estonia and Latvia these days. I’ll think about doing that when I have some time & money (not now!). Cheers, Rich ;-)

When I was kid, I was a fan of Eurovision. I recorded every show. Sweden was always one of the best countries at Eurovision and I always like to vote for them. I remember some good songs and artists like Tommy Nilsson “En dag”, Carola was also good, Jill Johnson and especially Jan Johansen with “Se pa mig”. So question fro swedish members, do they still have a career in Sweden? What’s happening with them these days?
I know only for Carola coz I saw several albums in cd stores in Stockholm when I was last year.

The beauty of these places is that they are not over touristy and the hotels are still quite cheap, places such as Estonia, Ukraine and also the Czech Republic.... I am fasinated by history and these places hold so much!

I didn’t watch it, though it’s been kinda hard for me to avoid Jordan these last few weeks; she lives in my town so we had posters and stuff up everywhere

ow you poor thing zaine , which town she from ?

i’m sorry to say this to some people, but i actually voted for Jordan - its hype that gets heads turning at this contest. Jordan could sing considering she doesn’t do it professionally (yet) and that it was her first time performing live - towards the end of her performance she was singing it perfectly in tune, mark my words with a little training her voice could well be up to scatch.

BTW - when Javine said “thank you england” and not the UK I wanted to wring her neck!

jordon could sing, YOUR tv has broken, its people like you that buy into the hype. i havent, Im sorry my mum sings more in tune than that women. Your giving a career to her as what, a publicty queen and you made her. its a sad world when people like you make people famous for having big fake boobs fake hair lips ect.

Ps i didnt mean to attack your character im sure your a real nice person, im just not a fan of hers lol.

Jordon was so out of tune and she looked like a giant barbie doll!

Which is your favorite? apart from your country i mean.

I go with Norway! Glam Rock hehe!

I’m in trouble if I can’t choos my own country as my favorite :P Wig Wam - In My Dreams, best song this year. Don’t like the Swedish song at all!!

I have not heard many of the entries for this year yet... not even heard the UK one being promoted yet...

iv heard them all now , i have to say i really like ,

a song called ’In My Dreams’ very 80’s, bon jovi aerosmith thing going on i love. Who is swedens cos they do great pop, i thought it was alcazar i like them.

You know this year I ain’t been bothered by it, as the voting really annoys me year after year with eurovision... I will be in Sweden when the event is on hopefully getting pissed and proping up some bar in Gothenburg for the evening....

I would still like to know who the Swedish entry is?

Everyone votes for Finland, ok?

Just out of pity - - it’s not the best song there is...unsurprisingly...

“Wig Wam - In My Dreams” is the best song this year, and I´m not saying this just because I´m norwegian. Last year I wasn´t that fond of the norwegian song, allthough it didn´t deserve to end up at the bottom.

And when it comes to Sweden, it´s about time they send something better than they´ve done the last years. The songs have been OK, but I tend to expect more than OK songs from that country. It´s time for Gessle I say.

Didn’t Sweden send ABBA in 2001?

Well, I know, it was just plagiarism, but it was ABBA’s spirit in it anyway :) (and chords and melody :D)

Wouldn’t it be Cool if Roxette where at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 for Sweden!!!!!!!!!!!

Btw, I forgot... If releasing “Stars” video had a huge impact on Roxette’s credibility, appearing on Melodifestivalen (not even qualifying to Eurovision) would be a “R.I.P.”.

ally I think you can see eurovision in some of the bars in GBG

ireland are out , in a suprise turn , :-) country thats won the most is out , who next ?

I think Eurovision became a real circus.

i love Eurovision , i think its great fun :-D , and the presenter in the uk for it on tv is terry wogan ,who is so funny doing it lol.

Yes lol I heard about Terry Wogan. I wish to watch Eurovision with his comments. It seems to be funny.
There will be a special 50 anniversary show this year where will compete all past winners. And we can vote on official website eurovision.tv for the songs we want to see.

@ Ted... I am gonna watch it at the hotel, with my supply of Halmstad Cider..

Did the records arrive yet...

Please everybody vote for hungarian group NOX!!!
They will the first perform tonight!

Nah I’ll have to vote the UK... I have no excuse if I am in Sweden and trust me they need all the help that they can get!

CROATIA will be the winner!!!!!!!! *pray*

BTW: Germany, is also GREAT! (-;

Oh well, so terrible :s
The Swedish song was really ugly :s
I had not seen Eurovision for some 8 years and I didn’t really remember how bad it was. And now mostly everyone sings in English and sounds even worse :s

Hungarian group sang in hungarian.

Oh well, what a joke of a votation... it was pure geopolitics :-/
Two many Slavonic/Balcan countries -> nearly everyone up slavonic or balcanic...

Next time they don’t need such a long votation, they can draw the winner with a map.

@ above

It’s been like that for years already.

Nordic countries gave points to each other as well...So did Portugal-Spain, for instance.

I thought the Finns took the contest too seriously...Relax, it’s only entertainment!

Someone would have had to pay me a lot of money to vote for the UK this evening... it was really bad!!

I liked best Malta, Norway & Hungary... the Greece song was OK... it wasn’t the best competition in recent years.

All the best, Rich ;-)

Last place with only four points for Germany? Great! *g*

Oh well, the difference is that Spain has 3 neighbours and Serbia for instance has 8! :D (Not to mention how many Yugoslavian expats live in nearly every European country ;) The expat stuff was very obvious in Germany giving 10 points to Turkey...).
Besides I don’t care about Spain, it was a horrible song! Almost as bad as Sweden.
Another thing... 40 votations is not “entertainment”. It was booooring... Before it was better, when it was 25 or so.

i wonder why the countries which weren’t in the final also vote, that takes waaay to long :S. and makes crappy songs like greece win... i liked Latvia, or Norway.

I really hope Sweden will be smart enough to not particiate at all next year. All the fun with the song contest dissapeared when they allowed all countries to sing in what ever language they want. I also think that the music styles between the east and west european countries are too different to mix smooth in the same competition. Besides that I think that all the songs (apart maybe from Norway) was crap. So I really didn’t care at all who won anymore... sad, I ones thought this was a funny evening! :-/

You see, the countries that don’t have to worry about being in next year... sent the crappiest stuff there. I guess they don’t care anymore (who does?).

Spain (I hadn’t heard the song before) made me puke, what the hell was that macho idiot singing in between?! Not to talk about the lyrics, thank got they sang in Spanish and not all understood them *sigh*

The German couldn’t sing. I think even that woman from Belarus sang better ;) UK and France *yawn*

The guy from Denmark got on my nerves, all those stupid movements and that ugly voice! When I saw the Swedish guy, I understood why Eva refused to tour with him *yuk* And at least Austria was kicked out already on Thursday.

I think my fave was Norway, at least that was real music with cool guitars :) And the funny one was Moldova, the moldovian red hot chilly peppers took the stage! At least it was original.

And what was the president of Ukraine doing there? I *thought* Eurovision had to stay away from all political crap, at least officially, that’s why the Ukranians had to change the lyrics of their song?

Actually, I had forgotten that the Songcontest was this weekend, normally it is announced everywhere.. with polls and all, but this year... nothing. I guess the only countries that care now are the Eastern.

Santi: Eurovision has always been political, you can even guess the votes, they are tooooo obvious.. :) And nice thing, Andorra sang in Català on Thursday (so did they last year) ;)

But this must have been one of the worse Songcontest I’ve ever seen, the hosts didn’t make it easier either.

@ Judith

I agree with you about the Danish guy...

Spain singing the crappy lyrics in Spanish didn’t prevent us (at least in my country) to get an idea of “what the f***”... You know, we get the translation in subtitles! :D

Anyway, my favourite of the participants were
Switzerland and Malta with Romania coming a little behind.

And where was Italy?They didn’t vote....Why?
We are just 12.place,I waited better:-(

Are you surprised at any of this? The voting in the Eurovision is so corrupt that no matter what the Big 4 threw into the contest they wouldn’t have gone far.

Countries just vote for their little neighbours and / or countries that have the same language etc. Soon there is going to be NO Eurovision because the main contributors get blacklisted in the voting.

im getting a little confused how all the voting is done me ? i song i wanted to win i didnt hear sing ?

wig wam, In my dreams, which country had that song ? i wanted that to win but didnt hear it ? :-(

I thought Israel should’ve won... i thought it was a damn fine song.

Them or FYR Macedonia! :-P

NORWAY was great! and i liked this grandma with the drums ;)

I really wonder why Denmark and Latvia gathered so many votes?? Swedish song was as bad as theirs.

Well, Greece is ok... But I prefered Malta (wonderful voice!), Norway(wooo!), Switzerland, Moldova, Croatias song was nice.

@ kriszta

“And where was Italy?They didn’t vote....Why?
We are just 12.place,I waited better:-(“

Italy hasnt participated in a long long time...They have their own San Remo festival and think that’s enough. If they don’t participate they cannot vote either.

Same goes to Czech Republic, Slovakia and Luxembourg. The latter has even won the contest some times. It’s beyond me why they don’t take part anymore..

By the way, did any of you like the Finnish contestant? “Why” by Geir Rönning (ok, he’s actually Norwegian).

I wasn’t surprised at all that he didn’t make it to the finals but I was surprised he got voted the following way:
Holland - 1 point
Andorra - 3 points
Germany - 4 points
Monaco - 6 points
Denmark - 8 points*
Estonia - 8 points*
Norway - 10 points*
Sweden - 10 points*

(*Neighbours:)

@ Per.... I agree with you it’s not as good as it once was.....

Jud”Spain (I hadn’t heard the song before) made me puke, what the hell was that macho idiot singing in between?! Not to talk about the lyrics, thank got they sang in Spanish and not all understood them *sigh* “
I understood them and yes they were crap : “quien ha sentido amor con esa cancion yo no!!!!!” english translation : who has felt in love with this song? not me!!

like terry wogan said, the voting was all over the place.

Do you really think people next to there own countrys vote for them knowing that . I dont ?!! would dream of it.

oh my god....you ppls really do care about eurovision.....amazing!

@rox-kuryliw.... that was the best thing about tuning in from Swedish TV... NO TERRY WOGAN!!! LOL

terry wogan is the best thing about it! atleast he’s realistic! ;)

Anyone know where i can download some of the songs... there’s a few songs i simply can’t live without - maybe someone can send it via email? (if there’s a kind soul like that lingering around here!)

Ok I’ll be more specific... I’m looking for the following songs in mp3 format;

Malta, Romania, Norway, Serbia & Montenegro, Denmark, Germany, Greece and Latvia...

Even links would do the trick... hope someone is able to help me!

*gives the puppy-eyed look*

yes off a site called http://www.mp3search.ru/ , i get all my mp3’s off there , i love it easy to use aswell. enjoy :-))

you may be able to tell me which country the group wig wam singing ’In my dreams’ sang for as i didnt here it on the show :-S by far the best song though. ta

They were from Norway

BTW thanx for that link but my firewall doesn’t like it (and it’s a corporate firewall with the source @ the ISP so i can’t do anything about it *cries*)

ta fella. ow its a shame , i love that website for getting music me :-D,

Yup Norway... Jackie bought the single in Sweden when we where there! :)
