Unnecessary news
nicci_The-Look said on March 4, 2005 19:04:
Can’t we here write news/facts that are just funny or somebody wants to tell them to others?
Whatever you like big or small things that you passed a test or that your cat was sick and now better Whatever
The only things is that they are “unnecessary” to know :)

Sounds painful Judith..... :(
I had a really crap awful stupid crazy day at work, I could not wait to get out.... and I am trying to forgot about the day I had but the vodka ain’t working...

Huh... you think you guys have it bad...
I started a new job this week, so I have been pretty tired and stressed...
...and the wife was taken into hospital today to have a minor operation, but the selfish cow didn’t stock the fridge with beer before she left!
Huh! Wait till she gets home!

By definition, “news” is something out of the ordinary. That’s why airplane crashes and other tragedies are news... they deviate from the routine. That’s why television news seems laden with horror, murders, robberies, assaults and so forth – because these things insult the standards to which the overwhelming majority of us adhere in the conduct of our lives.
What if, rather than “unnecessary” news, we dedicate this commentary string to GOOD news from fellow Roxette-teers? For instance, I have finally resumed the enjoyment of long-distance running, after recovering (by means of stretching, and lots of calcium) from a cripplingly painful inflamed heel spur. Thanks to a humble but dedicated physical therapist, who delved well beyond the doctor’s cursory diagnosis and mere treatment of the symptoms, enabled me to get my life back, running cross-country again. (And, I can now resume eating all I want! Ah, running! LIFE!!)

So do me a favour Oldag... go and run in front of a bus.
If someone wants to post up ANY kind of “unnecessary” news.... LET THEM AND SHUT UP ABOUT IT.
Jude: Told you that you needed supervision when you lifted that pencil ;o)
Steven: You’re whining over beer? I’m not surprised *lol*
Jud (moderator) said on March 5, 2005 07:53:
i don’t see the difference about your story and the others, Oldag but anyway.
I could sleep at night, waking up about 5 times (thought it would be worse)... but this is still hurting.
We had to go and decide for the tiles for our bath, but I can’t walk/stand.... so horror! Connie is going there with her mum! Let’s see what they get now ;)

@oldag.
CONGRATULATIONS. That really IS good news. I can’t understand the remarks of the others that came after you wrote that. I wonder if Judith, the moderator, noticed that Little Spooky told you to RUN UNDER A BUS!!!
You are seriously UNHAPPY and MISERABLE people.
Oldags news is GOOD. Maybe that’s why you are sensitive to it.
Anarem said on March 5, 2005 15:50:
LittleSpooky’s always been gunning for Oldag, for some reason.
Running (or even jogging or power walking) is definitely a good thing. It reduces stress and anxiety, and makes you feel good. You ought to try it, Spooks!

I’m so not happy with this.
The wife has returned from the hospital but is too sore to go up to the local store and buy me some beer!
I’ll have to get dressed now and go up there myself!

Steven your cruel :) although you could have always got her one of those mobilty scooters for 24 hours, then perhaps she could go shopping for you lo :)

@Judith: Sounds to me like you’ve got a nasty case of sciatica. I have the same problem. Have you ever tried chiropractic? It might help to relieve pressure from the nerve.
If you are sitting all day at work, you will need to try to get up and walk around regularly, and stretch your leg muscles because unfortunately, every time you sit down, you put pressure on your sciatic nerve.

For my response to Oldag
Who the hell is he to dictate or suggest to people what HE thinks people should write?
I’m fed up with people like him: My superiors at work, asshole pasengers telling me what I can and cannot say or do to them when they’ve disregarded the “common courtesy” rules set out for EVERYONE.
If people want to have a “whining about how bad the day / week / month / year / decade /century / lifetime post is” LET THEM. Good for Oldag that he’s running again. I have no use for joggers or bicyclists because where I’m from: They ASSUME they own the road. Stop signs and traffic lights and basic rules don’t apply to them. Why? “We’re out running / riding. We’re being healthy.” Be healthy after my bus flattens your ass because you decided that you’d rather run out in front of me, then wait for the light to change into your favour.
Anarem said on March 7, 2005 00:53:
The same can also be said about drivers. Most drivers are indeed courteous, but a good lot of them are obnoxious speed freaks who run red lights to get to work a full TWO MINUTES early. Oooh!
As a person who walks to work and back everyday, I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve almost been clipped by a turning car whose driver doesn’t understand the concept of giving pedestrians the right of way. Wait until the pedestrian has finished crossing the street, and THEN turn, buddy!
Man.
Here in North America, we’ve become a nation of motorists, whose asses are collectively getting fatter and fatter with each passing year. If people walked, biked, or ran *instead of* driving the measly three blocks to the grocery store, we’d be much better off. Kudos to those who are trying to better themselves by becoming more active (but always look both ways before crossing the street)!

I haven’t seen them yet :O they are supposed to be here tomorrow. Now they are only making noise knocking down all the bath... let’s see how they look like. I know they are blue for the wall and greyish (kind of marmor) for the floor.. at least no weird flowers or fishes - even though Connie said her mum liked ones with ugly fishes - good Connie has a better taste :D
My back seems to be better, still hurting specially with certain movements .. but well, hope it goes fine

I really do think people in this city (Amsterdam) smokes too much marijuana...
If not, somebody please explain to me how can it take 6 weeks to make a key... well, I’m being quite optimistic, I assume I will get it done this week...

Kazza said on March 8, 2005 10:43:
@Santi: LOL!!!! I can’t believe that! I have cut several keys before. It takes less than five minutes. If I can do it, anyone can!
Those people are definately on some serious drugs!
Hi Zee! How are ya mate? Long time no chat. Hope you get your guitar soon.
Jud (moderator) said on March 4, 2005 19:08:

I must have done a bad movement today when sitting by my desk at work when I came back from lunch, my back got “stuck” (a nerve..) and it damn hurts, pain goes down the left leg, I HATE it
