It’s kinda like “back to the roots”, but I love it, amazing song. What do you think?

great another 9 months of bono pontificating
no offense but after how great beauitful day was and all the things u leave behind this is crap

That song has entered the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart @ #46 this week. That is actually pretty good, because it usually takes about 2 months for a song to get to #1 there.

I was watching this nasty Slasher flick called “Taking Lives” today (Jolie Hawke). And they played some horrible nasty U2 song in the beginning and at the end.
Their sound is horrible,... really the only place for it is in movies about psychos. I don’t know how people can stand listening to them, not to mention all their songs sound the same.. dry with almost he same melody... and Bono just whines which i hate.
really they should have quit after “With or without You”...lol another song overplayed on Friends

i never liked U2, for some reason i cannot stand listening to 2 songs by them in a row.. heard Vertigo and didn’t really like, it’s ok but not really my thing..

I haven’t heard it yet, it seems that nothing happened here in Argentina. U2 is a classic rock band, they can write any bullshit and the critics will say it’s fantastic ... I don’t like them very much, they’re boring
IV_ROX said on January 24, 2005 01:07:
I agree with Judith, I can also hardly listen to more than one song by U2. And I think they are soooo overrated!!!! I heard their new CD, a definite No, no good!

“for some reason i cannot stand listening to 2 songs by them in a row”
I know exactly how you feel.
I mean, what’s the point if it’s not at least 25-30 songs by them in a row?
Nox1983 said on January 24, 2005 18:31:
i dont like them either, but i do like this new one becouse remind me of Abba’s As good as new...
coyboyusa said on January 25, 2005 15:51:

How can’t you listen to more than two songs in a row? Come on, they released so many classics! Can’t wait for their tour, although I’m still not sure what to think about the new album.
coyboyusa said on January 26, 2005 18:09:
yeah they had a decade of classics followed by europa and popmart or whatever that mess was. Now they realized if they carbon copy albums theyt keep their fanbase, bonos just become proficient at copying himself
and its his hypocritical i am a man of the world attitude that he has now thats the ultimate turn off, its easy for someone who now has everything to stand up and say oh were nopt doing enough to save the wqorld blah blah, when what he makes on song royalties alone could probably rewbuild most of indonesia after the tsunami
StillFar said on January 26, 2005 20:02:
do we really want to talk about aid for tsunami victims by the man of the world. There are other people who wanted to spend more on their own party than they were willing to give in aid...but that’s besides the point.
Do you know how much U2 give in aid? I don’t and I guess so don’t you, so what’s your point? At least he’s trying to make a change. You don’t have to like him for that, but you definately shouldn’t judge him because of it...

Okay, I am not a Fan of U2, but they are simply to be respected!
@arnie
You say, no matter what songs they release, the critics always love them. This is so not true, they have had a few released which the critics tore appart...
Last year, U2’s new Album was the fastet selling Album. Selling even more copies in the US then Eminem and the likes of it.. that alone has to be respected..
coyboyusa said on January 27, 2005 15:21:
stillfar and americans were the first military on the gounrd in indonesia giving out aid, america in the long term will end up giving more aid than any other country via the un to rebuild southeast asia and other affected areas, but since when is human salvation a bidding war...i just think bono is a hypocrite, bnecause hes’ in a postion to offer aid doesnt’ give him the right to insisit everyone else should.
and since whne is being a chart topper respectable , if thats the case brittney spears should be revered as a messiah. U2 has topped the charts by making songs that are like hallmark cards, the repeat emotrional elements overn n over, the only redeeming element is bonos voice of which wihtout u2 would be nothing.
oh and stillrfar no i don’t have any clue how much bono has given in aid, i am sure its vastly eclipsed by his profits from his albums, if thats the case how about michale jacksons who some have calculated has given well over 1/3 of his fortunet to african and world aid, yet so many of you here ridicule him too so ....
StillFar said on January 27, 2005 16:15:
Ok, let’s forget about Mr.Stingy and go back to Bono...
I can’t see how he’s a hypocrite asking people to offer aid. He goes visits rich countries asking their leaders to share their wealth and bring an end to epidemics in the poorest nations of the world. Maybe that’s annoying to you, but I can’t see how that has anything to do with being hypocrite. We (the wealthy nations) are the ones who are using and exploiding poorer countries to have the lifestyle we’re used to. What is the problem in trying to make a change?
You dislike Bono for “being a hypocrite insisting that everyone offers aid”. I dislike Michael Jackson because I think his music/voice/daning really suck and his appearance is so bad that I have to look twice at every picture twice to believe that it’s real. It has nothing to do with what he offers in aid. So what’s your point?
chart topper didn’t come from me either, I said classics...big difference!

what a dissapointment, after a very good album with one of their best songs ever (beautiful day) they deliver this!!! Awfull.

So-so, not a bad chorus, but very “U2” so to speak.
