Cheap Travel In Sweden?

Hi! My father and I will spend 6 days travelling in Sweden in August. We will go from Stockholm to Örebro to Karlsborg to Jönköping to Göteborg. I guess we can pick up tickets at railway stations but is there a cheap “1 week ticket” or something like this? Also, is it cheaper to buy tickets in advance on the internet? & is it cheaper to take trains or buses? Thanks in advance for your help! Best wishes, Rich

Thanks! We will only travel on 4 days though so I think these tickets won’t work?
... but I have another question! My father is 60 years old and I am a full time student (26 years old). Are there discounts for either of us?
Best wishes, Rich

I think the ticket you’re looking for is the Eurodomino. It’s for single countries and the time trave lis from 3 to 8 days within a month. Here you get some info on this: http://www.bugeurope.com/transport/eurodomino.html

there’s also something called ScanRail. www.scanrail.com
I think the best is to go to the info at the Sthlm central station and ask what’s the best for you / what possibilities you have.
At least there should be a special price for people < 26 (up to 30% discount).

Thanks for your advice! My father’s spending a lot so I want to save money where possible (then maybe we can afford some beers!)...
Does anyone here know anything about Örebro, Karlsborg or Jönköping? They look lovely, but we don’t want to miss any “must sees”.
All the best, Rich

I haven’t searched but I’d type nameofthecity.se and see ;)
like orebro.se (without the Ö or Äs)
Normally each city has a site and these sites have a tourist section :)

hejjjj....
there are some rail tickets you can get if you buy in advance that are quite cheaper than buying single tickets all the time... just type “eurail pass” into a search engine and it will come up with a list of sites... you can chose how long you need it for and what countries you’ll be in. you could maybe also ask a travel agent if this doesnt help :)
