Roxette and The Rasmus

Mario Pergolini has said several times that ¨In the Shadows¨ by ¨The Rasmus¨ sounds like a RoxSong, except by the fact that it has more sinthetizers. He said it as a criticism.
What do you think about that? I have to say that I like that song, and that I think that it has some RoxTaste.
(Mario Pergolini is one of the most important radio/tv show hosts, tv and music producer of Argentina. He hosts a show called ¨Cuál es?¨ (So what?) in Radio Rock and Pop. Marie and Per were at his show when They came to Arg in 1991).

Mario Pergolini said that? mmmmmm maybe he knows about they were roxette’s supporting act and Mike Nord Andersson is their pruducer.

I like THE RASMUS also... been playing the album non stop this past week, although I have to be totally honest and although I saw Roxette on RS in Stockholm I did not notice the support act, well not that I could remember them.... over the past 2 weeks people have been going on and on about them... it was Vix who told me who they where... if it where not for her I would still have no clue!

I have never liked The Rasmus that much. First time I heard Rasmus year 1995, when it was an “indieband”, without record company. Lauri look like an small boy :) A schoolfriend of mine was soundmixer of The Rasmus, yippii :P

I like Pergolini a lot, generally he’s quite pejorative about some kind of music (especially if it’s not pure rock & roll). But some time ago he talked in the radio about when he was in the Cirkus show when Tourism was launched (Roxette invited him when they played in his tv show). He said that it was very cool experience and have a nice memory of that.
Concerning The Rasmus, I like it, but I think it’s sound is more like Evanescence or Linkin’ Park than Roxette.

The Rasmus song is great, and i did like them when i saw them with Roxette. I was tempted to buy their album but im put off by their image. i mean is the album full of great trax like in the shadows or is it metal or goth? the singer had bleached blonde hair if i remember rightly when they played with Rox.

The music of The Rasmus is pure pop. It used to be funk, but nowadays it’s pop or powerpop.

I allways hear him saying he’s ashamed of his past in “Hacelo por mi”, but something tells me he’s not ashamed of hosting Roxette in that show. (In that show Per’s guitar fell from his guitar belt, haha)
Anyway, I missed Micke ’nord’ in the Rox band, he’s a great guitarrist. :(

Sometimes, it seems it plays some kind of “role” in “Cual es?”... as if it where too embarasing for the (main) Cual es audience if he admited he likes Roxette. So he tends to be very ironic, and many, many times he uses Roxette like some kind of “alegoría” (sorry, don’t know the English for that...) of the commercial music (of course as if commercial music where a Bad Thing per se).
Some weeks ago, after he presented The Rasmus, this question of “The Rasmus is like Roxette but with more synthetizers” poped up again... De la Puente made some reference to the past of Roxette, telling that Mario was indeed in Stokholm in a Roxette show, and then Mario said that show was VERY boring, that Per even played a couple of extra songs “for some friend who traveled a lot to be here” (supposedly Pergolini), and he hated that because he wanted to just leave the place right away. Then De la Puente said something like, “ok, but The Look was good”, and Mario said something like “No, it wasn’t. It was popular, everybody listened to it, but it doesn’t mean it was good...”
Anyway, the point is I think you’ll NEVER findout what Pergolini REALLY think of Roxette listening to “Cual es”.

The Rasmus...haha....i recently just got to know of them and instantly fell in love with them...they’re way beyond cool...yea...plus i find the lead singer is so damn cute!haha...he may look weird, but he’s still cute...haha...i think im gonna buy their latest album...haha
