What songs to perform?

I’m not sure whether this ought to be placed in the Off Topic section or here, really.

Ah well.

I do regular vocal performances, and in a few weeks I’ll be doing a really small venue, meaning that I can try out something a bit different without it going horribly wrong in front of a large audience. Anyway, I’d really like to do 2 or 3 Roxette songs with my friend who plays acoustic guitar (and, at a push, will sing). Based on the live performances that I own on Roxette’s B-sides and Tourism album, I’ve been considering Dangerous, Fading Like A Flower [Everytime You Leave], Things Will Never Be The Same and It Must Have Been Love.

I’m hoping you’ll have some additional ideas of songs which could be effective when performed with only a guitar, some simple percussion and maybe a piano. I want to keep things simple :-) Also, what do you think about my choices? Would the songs appeal to an audience that will barely know who Roxette is (unless I perform It Must Have Been Love, of course :P) ?

Hi
I think they are really good songs!!!!they’ll sound really great with acoustic instruments!
maybe you can take on mind songs as:
*Hotblooded.
*Sleeping In My Car.(maybe you can do it a little more blues!)
*Church of your Heart.
*Every day.(perfect to play on piano!).
I wish you the best in your performance, and please talk about it later!
Whish you the best,good luck!
Patolucas.

Breathe would be a good one :), but you can never go wrong with IMHBL .

I wish you the best.....sounded great when Per performed it with only acoustic guitar! And Paint sounds cool too!

TRY (SHE DOES’NT LIVE HERE ANYMORE)

GOOD LUCK M8

Thanks for all your suggestions!

I’d been thinking about doing Breathe, so thanks for confirming that it might be good to do that one.

As for Wish You The Best... I dunno if I dare go anywhere near that album :-S

Paint and SDLHA are good enough songs, but the lyrics are, perhaps, a bit odd in places - And in a ’bare’ performance, it could highlight that.

Thank you all.
