mental compatibility can exist between two people without them being soulmates and in a relationship, to be mentally compatible with him/her is important but the thing that’s really important is understanding and knowing the other person, even if you two are not totally compatible
if one of your friends thinks, sometimes, exactly like you do and this has happened to me, i don’t think it’s that important. it doesn’t mean you’re soulmates. i wouldn’t (and didn’t) pay that much attention to it
