°°° SCISSOR SISTERS

i’ve been to london last week and i’ve bought an absolut amazing new album by a band called SCISSOR SISTERS. here in austria i haven’t heard anything bout them yet ... they sound like JOYRIDE & HAVE A NICE DAY could have sounded in the year 2010 =) strong melodies, great mix of electronic and acoustic sounds and a kind of spring/summer feeling ...

do you know this fab new group? do you like them too?

actually we’ve talked about them at TDR before. well at least PowerpopLarry and I have. I’ve listened to a few songs and I’ve ordered the album, haven’t got it yet, though. But what i’ve heard so far, sounds great

I read somewhere they where influenced by Roxette or one of the members was...

yeah, check out the Roxette forum at TDR

Oh dear god I hope not. That song thats out now is AWFUL. Bee Gees gone wrong.

Why BeeGees?
Something way out of the contents of this thread:
Yesterday I heard a version of I Started A Joke. I just wanted to cry of how bad it was. This song is one of my all-time favourites. It’s an amazing song both lyrically and musically. Whoever had covered it had done a horrible job. Covering songs when you can’t sing in tune is unacceptable.

It’s the voices. Song’s ok... the voices... eeek.

oh my god, cover version of “I started a joke”. . . robin is the only one who can sing it and make me feel like I’m the one who started a joke.

@DaminehGessle: did you hear that barry and robin are back at the studios? I heared that they will go on with the name “The Brothers Gibb”. It feels like they are going to the start again!

Awful! They’re bloody awful! They sound like the worst possible mix of The Bee Gees and Steps! How much talent could it possibly take to take a relatively good song, re-produce it in the most hilariously unsatisfying way, and screech the hell out of it. Awful!

is it a joke? if it is, i don’t get it... what’s up with you? it’s one of the worst ’bands’ i’ve ever heard!

ok, it’s true their voices aren’t good but the sound and the arrangements are top for me ... the band might look like they shouldn’t be taken too seriously but they sound very interesting a good mix between pop, alternative and funk-rock... i think this is a very polarising band. i am the only one in my clique one who likes them...

btw: do you know/like the new album from AIR?

yeah, i have the new air album. i quite like it, but i haven’t listened to it very often yet.
you know what?! i almost got to interview air. but when my boss wanted to confirm it to the label they said it was too late :( well, bad luck.
