madonna's new rock songs
joyrider said on January 13, 2004 21:46:
how do you like the songs on madonna’s new ep “remixed & revisited”?
i totally love this new rock version of LOVE PROFUSION ... i have the same feeling like i have when a new roxette song is out ... love profusion in my loop again and again and again and ...
american life is a little bit too hard but also nice. finally a non techno remix! long live rock =) would be a nice idea with some soft rox songs but on the other hand it would sound like a joke if roxette came up with an remix ep ... again a compilation ... but for us fans it would probably be a great present, wouldn’t it?
rock on °°°

I actually expected more from the Nothin’ Fails remix..the original is such a great song! Does anyone know if there’ll be a video for it?

i wasnt being negative i was being truthful madonna has been played to her extremes she has little to offer to mainstream music.....if she was any form of icon she would help promote the people on her label she hasnt thats why michelle branch is shopping for a new label

Latly, I’ve been VERY disappointed with Madonna. Her “American Life” album is her weakest album yet, and what was supposed to be a multi-CD BOX SET for the 20th anniversary of her career, we get this EP, talk about lame!! I’m sure the mixes are fine, but I am seriously let down cuz I wanted that box set. Is it still coming??
BTW, Coy, mainstream music sucks, it’s better if Madonna ONLY plays to extremes from now on, it will be more interesting that way.
Also, Meech is shopping for a new label?? “Hotel Paper” is AWESOME, and it did fine, debuting at #2 and selling almost a million copies, and 3 hits off the record, not too shabby. Maverick didn’t do a bad job promoting it, and now her new Lillith-ish tour for singer/songwriters called the Virgin College Tour, not bad at all!!
I still want that Madonna box!!

There will be no video for “Nothing Fails.” I liked the EP quite a bit, but I think the “Nothing Fails (Nevins Mix)” is somewhat lacking. And the “Love Profusion (Headcleanr Rock Mix)” is my favorite track.
Madonna box set? Yeah, right. Warner Bros. and Madonna are way too greedy to put something like that out. It amazes me that she’s been in the business for 20 years and how she has all these unreleased tracks and old remixes, b-sides, etc. that have never seen the light of day on a newly remastered box set or compilation. She has all this material that will obviously sell and they don’t take advantage of putting some of it out in box sets or videos or whatever.
powerpoplarry said on January 16, 2004 07:21:
Seriously, the box set was planned for Thanksgiving or Christmas of 2003, it was in the works for almost a year, and all we get is that stupid EP?????
I just hope it wasn’t cancelled!!
coyboyusa said on January 16, 2004 13:23:
the label canceld it cause she was recording new materIAL FROM WHat i understood
TheRain1981 said on January 17, 2004 06:25:
New material? I doubt it. Warner Bros. sends “Love Profusion” to US radio late January. So they are still putting out singles. There’s no new material coming out soon.
They probably cancelled the box set for the time being because of the poor sales (by Madonna standards) of ’American Life” in the USA. Why release something when she’s not that hot at the moment?
powerpoplarry said on January 19, 2004 04:49:
The Bastards!! About sales, um, if the box is put together right and nice, it WILL sell, plus, regardless of how “American Life” performed, this box is a chronicle of 20+ years of recording, so it’s a whole other animal. PLUS, Madonna IS the biggest female artist from the 20th century, for chrissakes, she DESERVES a box, AND, um, isn’t Maverick HER label???? Sure, it’s part of Warner, but she has control, right???
This box WAS in the works, people HAVE been waiting for it, it should come out, period...
TheRain1981 said on January 19, 2004 06:22:
Powerpoplarry, I agree. I have just never understood why Madonna/Warner Bros./Maverick are so lazy when it comes to putting out good material for the fans. In 2001, Warner Bros. remastered and reissued her first 3 albums yet they didn’t bother to remaster and reissue anything beyond that! Fans have been asking for a ’Blonde Ambition’ DVD for how many years now? It’s like all of it goes unnoticed.

i didnt say soon i said the box set was originally shelved because she was recording new material..there was also a rumour that she was pregant again

I totally love her EP! I actually think the Rock Version of American Life is the best track.. When I was out clubbing last Friday, there was this show on, two drag queens performed the rock version of american life and it was REALLY good!! Madonna still rocks the gay scene! ha ha ha
