Is it more depressing than Casualties of War if any of you have watched this movie? I haven’t watched the movie you guys are talking about because here they never talked about it. I mean I haven’t been to the theatre since the second Lord of The Rings premiere so go figure. I will definitely get this movie tonight and watch it. Try Casualties of War though. The music, the topic, the scenes. It’s beautiful.

The original by Tears For Fears is just classic, one of my fave 80s tunes, off their 1983 debut “The Hurting”. The remake I heard is great, by Alex Parks, off her debut album “Introduction”. She sounds like a much better Fiona Apple, by way of Annie Lennox or Tracey Thorn (EBTG). The whole album is great, cool originals, and great taste in covers.

I HATE pop academy thingy and stuff like that, but I agree about Alex Parks. i bought her album, and have a fair ammount of respect for her as a person as well as an artist. not that this really has a lot to do with the topic, but y’know

Just heard a snippet of—I assume—this version of Mad Word over the closing scenes of a new series called In the Line of Fire. Love this song, especially the Tears for Fears version. Great song. Don’t remember it from Donnie Darko, though.

Mad World is actually quite an old song. Originally it’s by Tear For Fears and it was released 1983 for the first time, I think.
later it was rerecorded by Gary Jules for Michael Andrew’s Donnie Darko Soundtrack. And Donnie Darko came into cinemas in 2001. so actually this is no new song at all. but it’s still very good. especially if you’ve seen the movie. the scene where the song is played is so very beautiful and sad at the same time.
