I just wish that people can stop and end with this thing they have about HAND. We understand that not alot of people liked it and we understand that alot of people did like it...but to see it pop up everywhere inbetween threads now is getting boring...
to me HAND had an excelent cover, it had attitude and it just said pick me up and look at me.
to me HAND had rock solid lyrics in EVERY single song.
to me HAND had excelent melodies in EVERY singLe song
to me HAND screamed out ATTITUDE, and if you can do that with an album then you have atchieved more than just adding songs on an album
to me HAND was WAAAAYYYY better than RS, RS sounded tired and ’underproduced’ and the lyrics to the songs was bad...
DON’T KNOW IF YOU GUYS HAVE NOTICED BUT ALL THE LATEST SONGS WAS WRITTEN IN THE HAND PERIOD - LITTLE MISS SORROW, CENTER OF THE HEART(WHICH WAS A RS SONG) THIS JUST PROVES THAT PER WAS ON A CREATIVE HIGH DURING THAT PERIOD AND I AM SURE THERE ARE MORE GEMS LYING AROUND THAT WAS WRITTEN DURNING THAT PERIOD...IF THE NEXT ALBUM WILL BE AS ROCK SOLID AS HAND WAS THEN I WOULD BE A VERY HAPPY AND GRATEFULL FAN.

I think the main reason for the outstanding songs on HAND is that it was the first album after the big break. A couple of years time to collect strong material, in comparison to RS which was a rather fast follow-up. The next rox-album should be quite interesting as well!

But then, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. I don’t like it, but that’s because I don’t like dance music and those synth sounds they used. Overall it sounded too weak for me and just like Judith said in another thread I stoped taking Roxette that seriously after HAND.
The lyrics are kinda suckie too, but then Roxette was never that great in the lyrics department.
About the cover... well, I’d rather not comment on that.
As for the attitude thing... Sinead O’Connor tearing up a picture of the Pope on TV. That’s attitude!

the painos seemd like they were recoprded on a kids toy
the only true hit off the album was from hand recording sessions
this is just like the cbb era where all the amazing songs from that time perdio were put on gessles solo album or made b-sides to singles
hand and cbb are by far the 2 best prodouced, best written and recorded albums they ever made
and yes there IS attitude..well more of a hunger on hand to be successful to grab the listeners ear...it isnt all hush hush go to sleep now like rs was...rs almost sounded like a farewell album

That was, by far, the crappiest and fakest Roxette lyric line I’ve ever seen...or in Per’s own words - ’a Roxette parody’ - the ’parody-ishier’ lyric line...hehehehehhehehe...really!! for me, at least...

WICF, Anyone, IWTALLT, IWSL, Salvation, Cooper, BT.
Look at the great lyrics of:
COY, YCPYAAWAG, PTPOL, SATG
I was a little bit disappointed of the RS album. There are some good songs and some great parts of songs but when I hear the album there is not the 100% Roxette feeling. In my opinion Try and Fool are untypical Rox songs. The album sounds like Roxette had to go with the time against their willing under the pressure of the music industry. You can see it at Mazarin where Per wrote and produced songs without any instructions, just for fun. I hope for the next Roxette album Per has learned that this way has more success by the fans.

I think it is a bit too much Black and White here, or saying it in other words: Too much: it is great or it is crap.
In my opinion HAND is one of the weaker Roxette-albums, but it certainly has some great songs on it, which make the album worth to listen to.
So, it is not a perfect album, but absolutely no crap either.
