I think the newspapers organisation said that what Expressen wrote was wrong, but I don’t really know what this means, I just saw the headline on tv4.se “Fredriksson vann mot Expressen” = “F won against E” and saw those 2 pieces of news.. and run to post it here :P
but don’t really know what that really means.. lemme read in peace :P

No, it means “Pressens opinionsnämnd” convicted Expressen, but if that has any real meaning is unclear. It has definitely nothing to do with the lawsuit.

This was done fast, and I haven’t double checked it. Sorry about some bad translations.
The committee of opinion sais Expressen did wrong in publishing the article about Marie.
The press committee of opinion (PO) blames Expressen for violating good publistic customs regarding
their articles about Maries ilness and treatment.
Last tuesday, the Committee of Opinion made their decission regarding Maries case. The
protocol was adjusted during last thursday, and reached Marie today.
The article about Marie was published January 31 this year. On the frontpage, the headline was
“Marie Fredriksson struggles against new lump that is believed to be a tumor. .
In her report (anmälan), Marie wrote that she had read what Expressen wrote with anger and
dismay.
She demanded that Expressen should pay 500,000 Sek.
Expressens editor-in-chief Otto Sjöberg appologized three weeks later and said he regret the
newspapers speculations about her healthcondition. The paper calimed they were totally
convinced that their information was correct.
Pressagent Olle Stenholm writes in his assessment that “They speculative information concerns
a serious ilness and is therfore extra delicate when it comes to integrity.
They have inflicted Marie with unacceptable publistic harm.
This was made even worse due to Maries belief that people around her would think that she had
hided information about her healtcondition.
The newspaper should therefore recieve press-ethic blame.
PO welcomes the apology from Expressen, “it shows that they have a feeling for responsibility”,
but still thinks the apology is not enough. The committee agreed with PO and sentence expressen
for violating publistic customs. According to the committee, there is no public interest in having
articles of such kind published.
This is the 5th time the last 12 months that expressen hade been nailed by the committe of
opinion.
