Videos DVD

This is probably an old, old question, but as I’m fairly new to the discussion forums, here goes:
Is the “All Videos Ever Made & More” DVD playable in the US DVD player?
Before I invest in the thing, I’d like to know if I’ll be able to play it.
Are there any US buyers out help me?

I figured it was an ancient inquiry, but I wanted to know all the same.
Much more complete an answer than I’d expected and that pleases me.
You da man, Dave, you da man. Thanks millions.

All dvd’s players made in Argentina are PAL/NTSC compatible, so I’m sure that you won’t have any problem...

Actually Arnie, very few players distributed in Canada and the United States are pal compatible and many that are Pal compatible don’t convert the signal into NTSC, requiring a PAL compatible television.
To complicate matters, most salespeople and many manufacturer customer service reps don’t know which players are and aren’t PAL compatible. I’ve only recently encountered a salesperson that had anything but “it’s imposible” or “you’ll need to buy an expensive model that we don’t carry” as an answer. Most people are left to do their own research, so this is why I posted some somewhat off-topic information on DVDs on my website, including a list of compatible players at http://www.buymusic.ca/DVDPAL.html
Overall, i’d say I paid around $130 Canadian for both my Pal compatible player and Roxette DVD. I’ve also purchased a few more Region 0 Pal DVDs since then...

This has Been covered before but.
You Need A DVD Player Capable of Converting PAL to NTSC or a PAL Compatible TV.
PAL is a Different Video System, It is better Quality that NTSC [Not By A Lot tho] and Is Use in Sweden.
Check you DVD and TV Manual for the words PAL or Secam [A French version of PAL] Compatible.
If you Have A High Definition TV It Should Play it either Nativly or converting it into NTSC.
Otherwise it will work fine in a DVD ROM.
