In Love with someone you've never met??

A friend of mine told me the following.
He met this person last year over the Internet and they have been emailing each other ever since. He told me, from the very beginning, he felt something very special for this person. Not too long ago, they even started to phone each other. And now he is going to fly over to him to meet him during his Hollydays... He says, he just can not understand his feelings for someone he’s never met before in his life. He asked me for some advise, but I don’t really know what to think. Can it be love? Can you actually love someone you have never met? Is such a thing possible, and if it is, how is that possible?
What do you guys think?

There are different stories about a love like that. Sometimes it could be love, sometimes it is just an ilusion. Santi, wendy and madjy were so lucky. I have a very good friend I first met in the Internet, and I have met other Roxfans here in my own country throught the net. But love and friendship are different. I’ve been attracted to people I don’t really know, but I’ve only been in love with the ones I get to know personally and became friends first.

Anyway, I wouldn’t say “In Love” because that is too strong of a term to use for a person I’ve never met. But I do love him very much. The thing is,w e’ve been truthful to eachother, so at least there is a basis that we have a friendship before anything else. IF there ever is anything else.
But could you fall for someone online? Yea, sure, why not? Chatting online, if you are truthful with the person you are chatting with, can be a very good experience. They share you fears, hopes, dreams and sometimes fantasies that you are afraid to tell people in real life.

I believe people can pretend what they are not over the internet. I am speaking of experience and have seen goods and bads in trusting people on the net. I am not generalizing though. It’s just like saying marriages don’t last at times so I will never get married. When there are so many people getting divorced each year and my parents have been married for 25 years and more in love than ever before.

Hi Damineh.iv been married twice and have no regrets im happy for your parents they must really work for there marriage and you see the results. but with how the worlds turning you dont have to get married any more you can live together and that also takes a lot of work and resposibility the problem is that some people go into relationships with there eyes closed and wear rose tinted glasses you have to work at any relationship .sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt but it doesnt mean to say that we must give up trying for happiness

When 2 people start talking to each other, be HONEST to each other and then, with time, start knowing each other well love can happen.
When you REALLY love someone you love that person for what he/she is from INSIDE. So, of course it can happen even if you never met the person before.
And besides, our feelings is something that we cannot control. We cannot choose when and with who is going to happen. It just happens. So, everything is possible:)

Again it depends what you define love to be. Love is a word and has different definition depending on what you really want it to mean. To me it doesn’t have a meaning anymore. It’s just a feeling that when I read about it or hear people talking about it, i get butterflies in my stomach.
