I live by the sea. It was really, really cloudy earlier, and mist... but it’s SO damn hot. I live in Plymouth, we’re not suppose to have hot weather! The local saying... ’Plymouth, where the rain gets warmer in summer’.
My sister is having a b-b-q tonight, first one i’ve had since I was about 12! WOO!

Yeah it’s been the hottest in vancouver this year. It had been sunny for a month but it rained today and got me into a bad accident. The police told me 5 metres away and I would have spun to the concrete and died. I was so lucky.
Yeah so it’s been hot. Wildfires are burning towns and farms now. It’s horrible. I hope it doesn’t get here.

CO2= Carbon Dioxide
BS.AS:=Buenos Aires, Argentina.
We are gonna be really screwed if we don’t take care of the environment :/
Santi said on August 6, 2003 21:14:
Well, I think it’s my turn, as I studied 5 years of Earth Science (and plan to go on with it :D), to give my opinion.
I gotta admit I’m rather used to this weather, because in the place were I live (Spain’s Mediterranean coast) is always the same. Anyway I love the winter. However, as strange as this year is, and as true as CO2 emissions are kind of “out of control”, this year is really special, and it’s more a peak year in the graphic than the tendency, from last year to this.
I mean, it’s clear by now that the tendency is to increase, but not this way.
And the point is that as long as the economy is based on oil, nothing can be done.
Besides, western governments want to do nothing because they are financed by oil companies, and developing countries want to mimic our development...
Anyway, the only thing I wanted to say is that don’t worry, they will come some years that is less warm... and don’t worry, because as long as governments do nothing we’ll end up going on vacation to the beaches of Iceland...
@DaminehGessle: Take care!!!!!!! :s
@Ferdan: Cool site you said. But a little bit outdated, someone should tell them that USSR doesn’t exist for more than 10 years already :D
@Everyone: Let’s pray that Hindi and Chinese people don’t want a car for every family... and then for the wife, and for the son, and for the daughter... :s Long life trains! :s:s:s

Actually, I like this weather.
A bit to warm to work in, but great when you’re not working.
Now I have to convince my boss to give me free....
rox-kuryliw said on August 7, 2003 13:23:
we missed the record in UK, only got to 36.4 c LOL no 37.7c which was needed, when we broke the record in the summer 1990 , in the winter in the same year i remember building an igloo at the bottom of my garden were me and my brother got in it . so maybe it will be a bad winter like the 1990 record year for hottest day.
wendy said on August 7, 2003 19:16:

When you have free or holidays it´s okay. But if you have to work... I have a free day tomorrow and Im going swimming.
DaminehGessle said on August 10, 2003 21:34:
Santi thank you :)
It never got to 36 in here. I think it went all the way to 33 or something like that! Where I come from (Iran), it used to go up to 42C and I could live with it. Here it gets to 25 and people start complaining of the hot weather, including myself. I think it’s the humidity factor in here that makes it unbearable!

xuxa said on August 11, 2003 15:57:
I guess in my country, Portugal, the situation has been worse than in others european countries. Here, we have not only high temperatures but fires everywhere.
The hot is absolutely unbearable. Some days ago it was about 45 degrees. Now it is about 36 in Lisbon.
But the big problem are the fires. We have big fires everywhere, fields, hills,.... My country is burning. It’s a real catastrophe.
The situation has been so bad that the government had to ask for help to Spain because in some places fires have been out of control. Many people died already fighting the fires and many people lost their houses and families. Firefighters say that it is dificult to control the situation because the weather doesn’t help.
At the end of the week I am going to my hometown to visit my family and I know that when I get there I am not going to find all those green fields I used to see. Everything is black now.
It is so sad:(
rox-kuryliw said on August 12, 2003 22:12:

Roxlander said on August 14, 2003 13:35:
In Costa Rica weather is perfect, 18ºC-28ºC, sunny, enough rain... sorry my friends from Europe. I’ve been reading news about that terrible heat you’re suffering, and I hope it ends soon.
I think we must blame it on rich big countries, they only care about money but time is showing them the consecuences for their actions.
rox-kuryliw said on August 14, 2003 22:07:
