Natt Efter Natt

This Marie song is Cyndi Lauper´s All Through The Night originally, isn´t it?
Where did Marie get the idea to cover this song in Swedish? Did Cyndi ever comment Marie´s version?

Yes, it is a cover version of All Through The Night. There is some information on Cyndi’s homepage but no comment by Cyndi: http://www.cyndilauper.com/cover_det.php?cover_id=4

There’s also Anna-Lotta Larsson album called “Natt Efter Natt”. Anybody knows if there’s a reference to Marie song?

I’ve loved this song since I downloaded it from RoxService earlier this year, and then got hold of it on the Kärlekens guld box set which arrived a few days ago :-)

I’ts a great recording, and sounds exactly like Cyndi’s version. There are only 3 changes I can think of:
1. In the middle 8, a guitar replaces the synthesiser used on Cyndi’s version
2. The final note is a bar shorter on Marie’s version: She could have easily held that note, so I wonder why they cut it short
3. I think there is a semitone’s difference between each version: Marie’s version being lower. Might just be my mind playing tricks on me. Really must listen to the them at the same time :-)

It’s one of my favourite songs - Marie does the song justice.

By the way: Cyndi’s version is available on “Time After Time - The Greatest Hits”. It’s a wonderful album!

That’s my Marie’s solo favourite song. I love it!!

And by the way, the Cindy Lauper greatest hits album is named “Twelve deadly cyns...and more”. Wonderful album.

@Roxlander+Chris: There are several Cyndi Lauper compilations. Twelve Deadly Cyns... And Then Some is the official one released in 1994, Time After Time is a nice price compilation. “All Through The Night” is on both of them as well as on the original album She’s So Unusual from 1983 which I also recommend highly!

I have “Twelve Deadly Cyns... And Then Some” on cassette, but “Time After Time” is the CD I have. I just ordered “See Hear”, which seems to be a new compilation without her new “Shine” songs. It apparently comes with a DVD of her videos, hence I went for it :-) ’She’s So Unusual’ will be my next purchase - I just hope the album tracks are as good as the hit singles :-)

Also just purchased: ABBA’s “Gold” on DVD (for the bonus tracks), and Dead Or Alive’s “Evolution” (for the outrageous costumes) :-D

You’re right Spacedog. I wrote the album name wrong. And, yes, I’m sure there must be several compilation albums.

My favourite song, besides ATTN, is “I drove all night”.

Cyndi’s Shine songs probably aren’t included on any compilations, because all her stuff was released on Sony but Shine was released on an independent label. But there are rumours that she re-signed with Sony and will release the Shine-album this year. Can hardly wait... SHINE EP ROCKS!!! My Cyndi favorite definitely is Shine!! :-D
She’s So Unusual is a very good record. The other tracks are slightly weaker than the singles, but there is a very good version of Prince’s “When U Were Mine” on the album. Some time ago it was re-released with 3 bonus live tracks.
...I guess we’re going a little off topic ;-) Sorry!! –> on-topic: I love Marie!!! :-P

I have When You Were Mine - It’s one of my favourites! I really don’t enjoy I Drove All Night, though :-(

Perhaps the forthcoming Sony release of Shine is mentioned in the compilation I’m getting... I’ll let you know.

Although I think that really would be *off topic*

umm... I love Roxette!
