I just bought her new album , wow it’s really good.
very similar to diva, with less pop
(as i loved ’little bird’ on diva ) . bare has more soul and feeling a classic album in the making.
my guess honestly single no. 2
a thoushand no.3

honestly is such an interesting song, the way she sings in the background opposed to the lead voice...very special. Oh God is also great....amazing album!

I will be buying it soon myself, with that bonus DVD, I love “Pavement Cracks”, I heard it on a sampler. She’s always been soul music really, and she is very artful too. Love Annie, always have.

i wondered why she hasnt made a video for the song,
maybe its from a creative point of view, that everything is image in relationship with the front cover , which i like that idea.
starting to really like bitter pill as well now.

I like the cd more and more each time I listen to it.
The message on the back of the cd is so sad though as Annie explains these songs are about about facing up to the failed expectations of life....I know she is being realistic and honest but it is heartbreaking to think that someone as talented and gifted as Annie Lennox is so sad.
rox-kuryliw said on June 12, 2003 00:17:
i love that message on the back, thats what makes her a real artist with so many feelings, and in a way i dont find it sad as more as real for her, all her life she has felt as if a mask has to be used i once heard her say , now this is the real her bare feelings all open and free. with strengh to find what she is longs for.

“due to diary commitments, there will no longer be a video for Pavement Cracks” - that’s from the official site, www.alennox.net
That’s too bad.
I really like the album. I bought the limited edition with bonus DVD. The 2 acoustic performances of A Thousand Beautiful Things and Wonderful are fantastic. The interview is really good as well.

Saw Annie perform “Pavement Cracks” on the David Letterman show last week - she looked and sounded great!!!!
I read in the trades (North America) that her CD may not be a top seller but is getting rave reviews from industry critics.
coyboyusa said on June 18, 2003 21:18:
yeah theres no doubt the cd itself wont sell as big as diva did...kids these days have no idea what a real artists is. But anyway, i was dusting off some of my annie lennox cds and i found great acoustic performances on the walking on broken glass maxi single....and i am still so in love with love song for a vampire...i wish annie and marie would sing a duet or something

I heard on the radio the North American leg of Annie Lennox’s tour (earlier this year) was more successful than anticipated, so she is considering coming back for a few more shows in the U.S. and Canada - has anyone else heard this? I missed her first time around....

ACTUALLY, on the new Billboard charts, “Bare” debuted at #4, her highest charting solo album and first one to hit the Top 10!! Prior to “Bare”, “Diva” hit #23 and “Medusa” peaked at #11!!! Go Annie!!!
powerpoplarry said on June 26, 2003 17:15:
Awesome right??? The new published chart, “Bare” only fell from #4 to #5, which is not bad, considering many new releases fall 10 spots or more in their second week. Like that blah Justin Guarini, his album came in last week at #20, this week fell to #51!!!!!
But the best news is Per’s “Mazarin” crashing into the Swedish charts at #1!!!!!!! WOOHOO!! Go Annie and go Per!!!!

I wasn’t thrilled with this album when I first got it (considering how much I still love “Diva” and “Medusa”)... but that was then...
(-: This is SUCH a sad CD! I love “Honestly” and “Loneliness”... not sure which is better, but those are my favourites. “Wonderful” and “Pavement Cracks” are both fantastic and I get “The Saddest Song I’ve Got” stuck in my head all the time... “The Hurting Time” is amazing, very jazzy... “Bitter Pill” and the others are growing on me...
I agree, the “two-songs-in-one” thing happening in “Honestly” is very cool... Annie’s albums are few and far between, but well worth the wait.

its more of an inspiration for marie to do a solo record in english :)

I am actually waiting for Markuz’ reply. Anyway, it’s nice she is still around. One of *the* pop-divas of music history.

I love it! Very deep and soulful So far, Pavement Cracks and Honesty are my favourites.
