I started driving in 1998. I only had the test once and yes, I passed with a perfect score. I love speed :D and am very comfortable with cars.
I don’t like driving much anymore. The love of my life for 5 years is not with me anymore. I miss her so much. I have also made a page for her in my photo album. I just want to tell everyone that I am not materialistic. She was just the only thing that was with me through thick and thin, through beark-ups, through sad days. When I first moved out to another city, she was the only familiar face to me. When I first drove to California, she was with me for the entire 9 months. I miss her truly and hope she has safe home.

Damineh, that was lovely. What happened to your 4Runner?? Did it die?? Did you have to sell it?? What happened?? Oh, BTW, the 1st pic, the 1st after your written tribute, that’s a GREAT pic of you and your baby!! You look great in it. ;-)
That’s cool AASO, what year is your Honda Civic?? My sister has a silver one, a 1999 model, a coupe too, just like you. And yes, be careful...

I got my driving license 1997. I like driving, but I don’t have own car.150km/h? Here the maximun speed is 120km/h summer and 100 kmh/h winter.
xuxa said on June 10, 2003 08:02:
I’ve my driving license since 1999, but i don’t drive very often. I think I should do it more, because sometimes when I’m driving I feel a little bit insecure:( Sometimes I’m affraid of the other drivers too, because unfortunetly portuguese drivers, very often, have no respect for others, there is a big lack of civism here:(

Na, i’ll put in for my test soon, not had lessons for months... so about time I did! I’ve not needed lessons, as I was due for the test in October last year... put it off, and put it off... now june... and still not sent forms off. :(

I learned to drive when I was 12. I used to drive my grandfather’s truck down the roads in our more countryish areas of Florida. Go me permit (restricted) when I was 15, got my actuall lisence when Iwas 16 and ventured alone when i was 17.
Whoever gave me the right to drive isn’t sane. I love to speed. Though Iam cautious speeder (oxy moron I know!) I tend to go to the road with a battle plan from the distance I figure out more or less what cars I can get in front of and then do so... I think I missed m calling to be a race car driver. :)
irvye said on June 14, 2003 07:19:
Speaking of driving... my friend and I just got caught by the cops (Luckily I wasn’t driving). We were caught doing 94 in a 60kph zone. Good thing the cop caught us when we slowed down for that car in front of us. We were doing 120kph before that.

I’d like to have a New Beatle :D
I imagine myself driving inside one of those playing all aloud “Hey Jude!” by The Beatles :D lol
DaminehGessle said on June 14, 2003 17:36:
Haha Acshrum(sorry forgot how to spell it) thanks!
And Zeeshan: Yes, I do have enough time to take pictures, scan them and upload them knowing I am a student, I work 10 hours a day in research and I do 4 hours of sports daily! Now you tell me if I just waste my time or USE my time in a way I am satisfied at the end of the day! I do what I enjoy doing and not for people to comment on me having enough time in my hands!
I love taking pictures. You should see my black and white pictures. Those I put on the web are for my friends. You can go to the Friends page and you will realize how much time I spend on taking pictures. I do have my camera anywhere I go and I have a storage room full of pictures, boxes of pictures. And if you ask whether I look at them at all, I would say yes. Every once in a while I bring out the boxes and review my past. I believe pictures are the only things that would make you remember things you don’t want to remember at times, not that you can’t. My life is a movie rolling in front of my eyes 24/7, but there are things left out from this movie that I don’t mind to remember them over and over.
Now for my car, my dad sold her and got me a new one of those. But hey, I was so attached to her that no car will ever be the same for me. I had a blast with her you know. Noone will understand anyways! I still can’t call the new car MY car. Weird, eh?
Aaso said on June 19, 2003 19:26:
My car is now a paper! :(( I had an accident :(( I can not drive it till 15 days ..... :(((
*my leg is broken and my eyebrow (OMG its gone)* Couldn’t be worst ....
Santi said on June 19, 2003 19:56:
What happened???
I’m sorry you had an accident being so new into the “driving world” :( I hope this does not affects you in any way to drive a car again. Anyone can make a mistake :O
Take care!!!!!!
DaminehGessle said on June 20, 2003 02:48:
Oh wow Aaso hope you are feeling better! Driving in Iran is one of the hardest things one human being can ever do! Good luck on that!¡!¡
zeeshan said on June 20, 2003 13:01:
Aaso: I TOLD YOU earlier NOT TO DRIVE FAST!!! I guess that is a lesson for you to learn but accidents are accidents after all accidents. Sometimes u just can’t avoid them.

@Aschrum: “Why”... watch Lonely Planet programs about Iran and Vietnam... (this last to realise how can it be to drive in a “chaotic traffic country”).
Santi said on June 20, 2003 21:53:
“The Lonely Planet” is one of the best known travel guides company, and video guides too :O They are everywhere, and in Germany also. Check their website: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/ If you’re very interested you can even buy the video guide for those countries.
But I warn you in the Vietnam one there are some “not nice” things to watch, like the traveller (Justine Shapiro, who, by the way, is South African) having to drink a beverage made of alcohol and snake juice. :s
DaminehGessle said on June 21, 2003 02:45:
Aschrum: Noone goes by the traffic laws in Iran. People get into a 1-way street (the direction they should not be entering the street from) and they start swearing if you get mad cause they have entered a 1-way street and have blocked your way!! No signals nothing. There might be 3 lanes in a street but 5 lines of cars are driving all at once. It’s a MESS! A total mess! Swedish and Japanese experts came to solve the problem and at the end when they were leaving, they said oh well you have perfect roads and highways but it will take a couple of decades to actually solve your traffic and driving problems.
Aaso said on June 21, 2003 05:18:
.... thank you. But I think I can never drive that car again :((
Indeed the problem was a mad boy. He caused the accident. we were both speeding and he thought I’m gonna get him, and I thought he’s gonna get me ... I will never understand who was gonna get who! BUT he couldn’t control his speed and then “crush, boom, bang” .... so terrible!
2 Santi, I think I will drive faster this time ;D
2 Aschrum, Yeah my eyebrow is broken and my leg is gone! :)
2 Xuxa, thax but I think I have to stay at home for at least 2 weeks, so sad!
2 Zee, yeah you told me, I just couldn’t let that stupid get me!! :O
2 Larry, I’m fine except missing my car more than my eyebrow ;D
2 Damineh, misazim dige che kaar konim! Yeah driving in Tehran is the hardest thing you can ever imagin!!
Nobody will ever wait for others. Everyone wanna be the first to pass. in some highways the distance that you can pass in 10 minutes ,takes nearly 40 minutes in the mornings!
5 lines streets are just 10 lines. OMG, damn motorbikes are every where except people’s bedrooms!! When you’re about to keep the safe space between your car and the next car, you can just hear nearly 10 kinds of car beeps behind you forcing you to move and stop just 1 milimeter from your next car!!! so just imagin, how one can drive safely in Tehran! lolzz
Aaso said on June 25, 2003 11:27:
Sorry Aschrum (whats your name if you dont mind?)
well exactly my leg is broken;
powerpoplarry said on June 10, 2003 05:14:
Um, I got my license back in 1993, after 6 tries on the road test, aka I failed 5 times, mainly out of nervousness. I love driving!!
