PER'S SOLO ALBUMS??
ally77 said on May 31, 2003 17:53:
Okay I need help... I don’t have the Roxette discovery book, so perhaps someone who does or someone who knows more than me can help!!
I have in my CD collection 3 solo albums from Per... they seem to have the same songs on some...
PER GESSLE
HJARTATS TRAKT / EN SAMLING
SCENER
Which was the first album he made... it seems two may be later versions with different sleeves, am I right?
You gonna hate me now... I have had them for years and have never even played them.... sorry Per...
Perhaps someone can enlighten me on which CD is which??

i only have two... twatg and hjärtats trakt, but I’m gonna get the rest... and on the 16th i’ll get mazarin... but i can’t just buy PG and scener, cause i want demos to!!

hjartats trakt is a sort of cheap compilation, you know, the sort of cheap ass cd’s the sell at fuel stations etc....
There is also a GT cd like that, it is called Ljudet av et annat hjarta/en samling
but indeed, it isn’t on the pickwick label, it is sort nice price collection of EMI.
There was an album released by Pickwick and that was GT’s Samlade tider, and PG’s hjartats trakt, with a different cover and tracklist, and therefor it misses the sentence ’en samling’ after hjartats trakt.
:-D See y’all in halmstad in a week or so!

Oh yeah, I forgot that those cheap compilations were actually RE-RELEASED (like once wasn’t enough!!) with different sleeves... so forget what I said about the Pickwick versions... the ones I was talking about (on Pickwick) are on p. 196 and 197 of the discography... in any case, the Per CD you have (ally) is much better (I think!) than the one I have... mine doesn’t have “Pa Vag,” which has to be the best PG solo song ever! Yours also comes with a ’rarity,’ the song “Ros” (a duet with Marie), which can otherwise only be found on the “Demos 1982-86” CD. Mind you, there are also some very odd choices, like “Indiansommar” and “Timmar Av Iver,” which aren’t going to make you run out and buy the other Per CDs (-: I think those two are among Per’s worst songs... only “Historier Vi Kan” is worse, but fortunately, Per didn’t write it!!

I have listened..... and ummmmmm very good, so far!!.... don’t know why it took 4 years though!!

Just a quick question:
Where can I find the box set? Is it still available? Any online solutions would be great, but if any Swedes know any country-wide shops which stock it could tell me, I’d be very grateful.
Thanks!

I really like the Pers solo albums. I think even more than most Roxette albums...
Timmar av iver is one of my favourit Gessle songs! But I agree that Historier vi kan is one of Gessles weakest songs, probably because it sounds to me like the Dutch song Busje Komt Zo...

@ ChrisWilliams : they used to sell it at skivhugget.se, but obviously they don’t at the moment. but maybe you just send them a mail and ask? they have usually a good customer service... and if I make enough advertising I’ll get my next delivery for free ;-) no, seriously, I often order stuff there, for instance right now I bought the new per cd there, 175 SKR, and even cheaper because as a swiss citizen I don’t have to pay the vat :-)

Per’s first two solo albums are “Per Gessle” (1983) and “Scener” (1985). The other CD you have is a compiliation CD released on the Pickwick label in Sweden in 1994 (it’s not a bootleg, but not really “official” either... I’m sure Per had no input into it whatsoever).
You should DEFINITELY listen to your Per CDs!!! Some of his best songs ever (“Pa Vag,” “Speedo”) are on there (although “Pa Vag” was written by Niklas Stromstedt... (-: )!
