OFF TOPIC by far...
In Roxette you meet the greatest freaks... in Off topic you meet the greatest people!! :DDD
zeeshan said on May 30, 2003 20:43:
Just like Wen said, I LOVE MY FRIENDS HERE! Some of the FREAKS (santi and wendy probably know what I am talking about) did make their way here but I haven’t seen them around lately! We are cleaning this town ;)
OFF-TOPIC RULES!

Lol yeah except some dude I don’t wanna name here! She apparently was waiting for me to say something about Buffy to jump at me ha ha!
Yeah I love off-topic. Roxette topic everyone is so prejudice they sometimes forget about themselves.

I prefer off-topic, because despite what some people say, there is more to life than just Roxette :-) I wouldn’t say that people on Off-topic are friendlier, because most people go back and forth between the two. But man, sometimes in off-topic, people reveal waaaaaay too much about their personal lives...

“people reveal waaaaaay too much about their personal lives” that is good isnt it?! :)
on_a_mission said on May 31, 2003 13:02:
er well, the phrase ’too much information!!’ can often be applied to off-topic.
Anarem said on May 31, 2003 13:06:
@Aschrum:
It’s a matter of opinion, really, and one’s own comfort level. Do I need to know how many times someone j/os a day? Not particularly. :-)
zeeshan said on May 31, 2003 23:28:
Anarem... I AGREE but we can always SKIP those topics. I never read those gay topics and all just because I don’t have anything remotely close to an interest in those topics.

I red THAT gay topics and sometimes I post in there too. I think that those people are VERY nice.
Anarem said on June 1, 2003 07:03:
@zeeshan:
Are you implying that straight people don’t j/o? :-)
I was only using the j/o topic as an example. What really irks me, though, is when I come to a topic thinking it’s going to be a light and fun read and then someone posts his/her life story and reveals way too much about themselves. I understand that some people need to connect with others, but sometimes a public forum isn’t the place to do it– there are always unscrupulous jerks out there who could be collecting information and perhaps use it to their advantage.
Twilight-Ghost said on June 1, 2003 13:21:
I agree with you Anarem. That is exactly what I think.
I try to be as mysterious on the net as I can. (That’s what “ghost” means in my nick). Ghosts are mysterious (get it?). Before, I wouldn’t even reveal my real name, gender or the country I come from. I use to think that some jerk out there might be collecting information about me and use it to their advantage (just like what you said), then I thought I could be just paranoid and I’m probably the only one who thinks like that. But I guess I was wrong, even you have thought of it.
I agree public forum is not a safe place to reveal a lot about yourself. If you want to do that there are other alternatives like weblogs / online diary.
This is the way I see it. You could either reveal your FirstName/gender/country/birthday, etc but not your personal life. Or you could reveal your personal life but not your FirstName/gender/country, etc.
I have a weblog myself somewhere on the web where I reveal personal things about me, but I never reveal who I am or what country I’m from, etc. Just to be safe.

Getting on topic:
I prefer neither because I like both. But honestly, I’m mostly in the off-topic forum. When I visit TDR, I usually look at the “news”, then the “Roxette forum”, then “the off-topic forum” (and spend more time there).
T.G =)

off topic cause lately its the same 10 threads running in rox forum
harriej said on June 1, 2003 18:38:
Well, for the Roxette-news: The Roxette-forum.
But for the rest: Off-topic.
Usually I spend much more time in Off-topic than in the Roxette-forum.
It is good that both forums exist.
