Which are the most sad songs in your opinion?
(not only Roxette ones). For me:
1.Nothing compares 2 u. (Sidnead O’Connor)
2.Tears in heaven. (Eric Clapton)
3.Never is a long time (Roxette)
4.Sand and Water (Beth Nielson Chapman)
5.Sorry seems to be the hardest word (Elton John)
6.To make you feel my love (Garth Brooks version)

and lots of more. (I can’t write them down for lack of time!!!)

I love sad songs...

Im Sorry - Roxette
Gone - Madonna
Paradise Not For Me - Madonna
Spanish Eyes - Madonna
Foolish Beat - Debbie Gibson
Hopeless Devoted To You - Olivia Newton-John
Careless Whispers - George Michael

This is gonna end up in Off-Topic...But as long as it stays here I say:

ROXETTE: The Weight Of The World
ROXETTE: Every Day
ROXETTE: Crash! Boom! Bang!
ROXETTE: So Far Away
ROXETTE: Watercolours In The Rain
ROXETTE: Never Is A Long Time
ROXETTE: I Don’t Want To Get Hurt
ROXETTE: Beautiful Things
ROXETTE: Come Back (Before You Leave) (Demo by Per) – this is probably the SADDEST of them all! :´(

for me the sadest song is: ZZ Top - Rough Boy

for me this is a sad songs:
ANYONE -ROXETTE
SPENDING MY TIME - ROXETTE
KARLEKENS SKULD - MARIE FREDRIKSSSON
SO FAR AWAY - ROXETTE
WHY - ANNIE LENNOX

roxette’s song:
A Thing About You (well, the part when Per sing “Lately you’ve been painting my world blue...)

that’s all I can think of now... :P

Here’s my list:

Almost hear you sigh Rolling Stones
My heart can’t tell you no Rod Stewart
With or with out you U2
ya no te extraño Sasha
Every day Roxette

Hej

@ Madjy - I totally agree with you... the line “Lately you’ve been painting my world blue” is so sad. To me it’s the most sad line ever !! So full of emotion, I love it !!

Actually, “A Thing About You” is a very sad song... take a second and analise it... simple lines like “The tv is on but the colours are gone”, sounds very deep... like the guy that lost his pleasure in life. Or “And I’ll never stop believing”, when even the girl do not like him, he still believing (and there’s nothing more classic about love than faith). This song is just PERfect !! :)

All the best
LoneGunman

Depeche Mode: Waiting For The Night

Anything from Creed...man, it’s sad to have to listen to that guy imitating Eddie Vedder...

things will never be the same tourism version

Everybody Hurts - REM
Anyone - Roxette
17 Again - Eurythmics (not sure if it is supposed to be a sad song)
He’s not Talking - Jane Wiedlin
I’ll Remember - Madonna

So many others but I cannot remember them right now.

LOL on the creed comment that was funny

“17 Again - Eurythmics (not sure if it is supposed to be a sad song)”

I guess it’s sad on some level, but not as sad as “I Saved The World Today.”

Roxette:

Cry
So Far Away (acoustic)
Go To Sleep (from associations..)
Watercolours in the Rain
Perfect Day
Beatiful Things

Nonroxette:

Duncan Sheik - Wishful Thinking
Lauren Christy - Walk This Earth Alone
Oasis - Let’s All Make Believe
Savage Garden - To The Moon and Back
Bryan Adams - When You Love Someone
Stabbing Westward - So Far Away (Acoustic)

Whew! Enough?

many!!!!!!!!

I just can think of 2 songs now :

Savage garden : Two beds and a coffe machine
you can still be free

REM: EVERYBODY HURTS

Aie... I have to think...

Ok ummm :...(
*hands out tissues*

-Diana Ross - Missing You
-Roxette - Queen Of Rain (This song puts me into depression! *SOBS*)
-Stevie Nicks - Opperation Desert Angel (It’s about Opperation Desert Storm, it’s a really haunting type of song)
-Matthew Good Band - Born To Kill
-Our Lady Peace - Theif (Raine from OLP wrote this about a friend that I believe passed away from Brain cancer “I know there is a theif that lives inside of your head..”
-Evenessance - My Immortal
-Doro - Undying
-A-Ha - Forever Not Yours + Hunting High and Low
-Madonna - Love Don’t Live Here Anymore
-Prozzak - Anna Lisa
-Bon Jovi - Never Say Goodbye
-Pat Benatar - Out of the ruins (Unless you have her last Live Summer Tour CD or DVD you will not have a clue what song this is until her new CD comes out and it is hopefully on it. It’s sorta like a waltz about two young lovers that met and lost eachother during the holocaust.)
-Me (yea Me as in Me not a band called me ;)) - Teach Me

Can’t find all the lyrics and don’t wanna type them all out but my song goes something like “Teach me how to love you. Tell me what to do. If I do something wrong would I have to live without you?”

So...Non-Roxette: :D

Madonna - Love Don’t Live Here Anymore
Björk - Hyper-ballad
Björk - Joga
Elton John - Long Way From Happiness
Elton John - Mansfield
Elton John - This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore
Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again
Depeche Mode - Sister Of Night
Depeche Mode - ...sorry can’t recall the title; it’s track #4 on Exciter, anywayz...
Tori Amos - A Sorta Fairytale
Sinead O’Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U
Tina Turner - When The Heartache Is Over
& numerous songs from Finnish Kaija Koo – and Leevi & The Leavings.

For those who love sad songs, I strongly recommed “Sand & Water” performed by Beth Nielson Chapman. She wrote this song after her husband’s death. I first heard this song on “Charmed” and downloaded it from the net as I didn’t know this singer. Now I listen to it at least once in a day.

gabbe, which episode of “charmed” ?

not sure if this is a sad song, but “little jeanie” by elton john makes me sad.

Without a doubt, the saddest song I’ve ever heard is:

IF YOU COULD READ MY MIND

By Gordon Lightfoot

oh yeah, and “There is a light and it never goes out” by The Smiths

OooooH! Reminds me

“I won’t walk away” From Jewel :....(

I really can’t stand Jewel but I like that song.

Remember the band Alias - More Than Words Can Say?

“I need you now... more than words can say...” *sobs* Was on the radio a little while ago. *sniff* ;)

@lonegunman

ATAY was very sad song, I heard that first time only by it’s 30 sec on the internet, and I could hear “Lately you’ve been painting my wotrld blue”. I almost cried when I heard that, especially at the same day I red the news about Marie faint in her bath room... so, it was a sad moment for me. still like the “line” though. it’ sad but my fav.

Kachina008. I can‘t remember the episode because it was from the very beginning. The lyrics of this song are:

“All alone I, didn’t like the feeling,
All alone I, sat and cried,
All alone I, had to find some meaning,
in the center of the pain I felt inside...

All alone I, came into this word,
All alone I will, someday die,
Solid stone is just, sand and water baby,
sand and water, and a million years gone by...

I will see you in the light of a thousand suns,
I will hear you in the sound of the waves,
I will know you, when I come as we all,
will come through the doors beyond the grave...

All alone I, heal this heart of sorrow,
All alone I, raise this child
flesh and bone he’s just, bursting towards tomorrow,
and his laughter, fills my world, and wears your smile...

I will see you in the light of a thousand suns...........
etc...

She wrote this song after her husband’s death. It’s really sad and the music is perfect...

Listen to it.
