Stupid Topic I know, but I am still interested in your guys answers.
When my wife and I got married two years ago we had to make the decision, if we should get a DVD player or a Video player, we got the DVD player and I just like DVD’s so much more than Videos, all the extras you get on DVD’s, it is amazing really...
So what about you Guys? DVD or Video?

Oh, duh! I didn’t answer question! LOL! I buy both. Although, mainly DVD’s of late, as I am trying to get on DVD the films I love on video. :) But I buy a lot of videos, as they have been reduced to a couple of £’s recently! VERY cool! :D

@ Tevensso.... very impressive... but you have no Poltergeist.... 1, 2 & 3... best films of the 80’s... I am jealous as want a copy of Show Me Love in my DVD collection but everytime I come to Sweden I cannot find it... maybe next time....
I have to say DVD’s as they are still easy to store... at my last count I had 150+ but never listed them but after seeing the lists on here I am temped to!
Still buy VHS as usually can pick up the odd bargain... keep saying I shall stop buying them one day I will...........

@Ally77 I found Show Me Love (Fucking Åmål) at http://www.dvd.com (R0, but NTSC), and it still seems to be available. I think it’s deleted in Sweden, and it isn’t subtitled in English either. The US version is, in British English even.
Poltergeist I have on LaserDisc. :) But I only like part 1. #2 is dreadful, and I never saw the third. :D

DVDs:
- takes up less space
- don’t have to rewind!
- a lot more features
- a lot of the titles out now are letterboxed
- you can switch between language tracks and subtitles
- better video and sound quality
As for videotape... I would buy it only if I really had to, and in the case of Look Sharp Live, I’ve noticed that the picture quality of some of the videos (like Dangerous, for example) on the videotape is much clearer than on the DVD! Weird...

never buy. the library has tons for free.
copy them from a friend or download from the net.
either format is fine.

@ Anarem - the Roxette DVD is one of the worst DVDs I’ve ever seen, quality wise. :(

Oh, okay– I was wondering if it was just my computer monitor conking out on me. Better the DVD and not the monitor.

It’s Sad when the videos of Rox I have on VHS and even recorded from Euro MTV and copied like 8 times have better quality than the Actual DVD.
I saw it for the first time on a cool DVD player I bought that plays all regions and was soooo disappointed in the quality. they could have spruced it up a bit! :P
