which do you prefer??? old or new rox style

i don’t know if somebody already start this discussion . but I just want to know your opinion .
cooz there lots of rox fans complaining since they chnge their style , you know ! from a pop rock danceable band in the late 8o’s and earlly 90’s to modern synths sounds . so Im just wondering which sounds and which style you prefer. I know you love roxette whatever they are, but lets be honest.
Their music really changes except for the voice

BTW I think the voices do have changed, both per and marie.
Maries voice was higher in the old days, so basicly per could write any song he liked. Nowadays they wright the songs in a way that both marie and per can sing them. So the sound imo is “without risks”. Maybe boring compared to the old songs.
Per in the old days was more the songwriter and less a singer. He did sing the songs that would sound very stupid if they were sung by marie. But on each album it seems per sings more and more ballads and uptempo songs. Nothing wrong with that btw. IMO per should sing the “catchy”songs like the look, paint, dangerous, COY, ON...but let more powerfull songs up to that gorgeous blond female. It would be very surprising though, If rox would release such a catchy song...sung by marie...like Fool.
But looking at ROX as a pop band. I still like the typical sound they never lost throughout the years. And well, except for songs like Stars or Make my head go pop, rox still makes very nice pop-music.
I bet they would be more succesful if a little effort was put into promotion and in the single-choices. But I do not think that it would make any of the songs any better or worse if they do that.
With or without the promotion I can say I still love their music...and that’s a long time now....

All albums have good and fantastic songs (and some maybe some less than good songs).
I think HAND is the weakest, but RS was better, so I just like Roxette the way they were and still are.

...I also love the rest of Rox stuff, but this record is just a masterpiece.

Yeah!! though all of us here love roxette whatever their style, I prefer their old style, very alive and powerful weather it is in pop , rock or ballad. Coz even if they’re voices change a bit they should have preserve the real sound of guitar and upbeat drums that makes me dance and sing all throught the night. why “a thing about “smash hit here was because the people recognized that it was the real sound of roxette back in the old days, and they missed the Per’s voice a lot with the acoustic sound of giutar.
Some of the style was preserve to some of unreleased song like JEFFERSON ITYNTTGH in RS
HAND was a good album but I guess they pick the wrong debut song it should have been STARS OR COY.

I used to like more Joyride/CBB/Tourism but now i like them all!
Look Sharp: Cause it still is a pop guide! And it has Listen to your heart :o)
Joyride: What can i say? Marie and Per at their best mood!
Tourism: Magic atmosphere, u can find Roxettes sweetest songs in here, kinda blue mood
CBB! : Guitars! More rock-orientation and of course my all time favourite rox-ballad CBB!
HAND:I couldnt stand it when i 1st bought it but i gave it another chance...probably the best alternative Rox album...lets not forget that COY is in here yay! Let alone Anyone and It will take a long long time...
Room Service:To me the weakest one if u compare it with any other Rox album...Somehow it has a lot of songs i skip which i dont do with any other...but still TCOTH, Real sugar, Looking for Jane, Jefferson, Fool, MWMLML worths the buy

All their albums have a style and class of their own. Every album is a gem. Roxette is at their best all the time. So both new and old are my favourites:)

LS has basically 1 ballad LTYH
RS has MATAH,LG,BMDTMK,ITYNTTGH,MWML..
still hoping for an album with mostly uptempo songs

I prefer the stuff from CBB and HAND but RS wasn’t as good and sounded a bit rushed to me. The new songs on TPH and TBH are great though.
