@ Sascha
But aren’t Germany & Sweden a little different from one another? Sweden is their home country and where they’re always on the newspapers. And just look at their chart history there...On comparison
SIMC 11 (Ger) 1 (Swe)
YDUM 42 (Ger) 9 (Swe)
WICF 26 (Ger) 4 (Swe)
TCOTH 31 (Ger) 1 (Swe)
ATAY 37 (Ger) 14 (Swe)
ON (god knows where) (Ger) 11 (Swe)
And Nox was supposed to be their strongest single in a long period of time!

Thanks for this quick info (quicker than the news on the front page ;o)), #11 is not bad, but I think you’re right with the tougher competition at the end of the year in charts...

@animalkingdom: You’re right, it will flop everywhere outside sweden -
In Germany it’ll be released on monday, so we have to wait 2 more weeks to see how it’ll chart there - I think to enter the Top 70 will be hard work :(

@ room-service
It’s flopped in Sweden also...No 11 - come on!
Let’s see Joyride #1, HDYD #2, SIMC #1, YDUM #9 (even), WICF #4, TCOTH #1, ATAY #14 (flopped) ON #11. Too bad... They’re so beloved in their home country and yet can’t break into the top 10.
animalkingdom said on March 6, 2003 17:01:
...and look who’s no. 12: the rasmus! deerloord, hope rox stay above them...they’re finnish for god’s sake!!
room-service said on March 6, 2003 17:01:
#11 is not too bad just because it’s their home-country. - For having nearly no promo, #11 in sweden is not that bad, it’s not great, but I want call it a flop. - BTW not every german artist gets in the german top 10 ;)
bunny said on March 6, 2003 17:01:
Well, give that roxette can’t do any promotion for ON, 11 is not that bad at all. i mean they performed TCOTH live on swedish tv multiple times before the single release back then if i recall correctly

of course not every german act gets in the toppest positions...not every swede does either. but roxette is one of the biggest and most important bands in sweden...bands that get such publicity here in finland (the rasmus or him, for instance) always shoot straight into the top or at least top 3. what’s happened?!
bunny said on March 6, 2003 20:12:
Everybody’s waiting to get TPH probably. Nobody wants to buy a single with no new songs on it .
Sascha said on March 6, 2003 22:25:
Huh? I somehow miss the point of ON being a flop in Sweden! 11 is brilliant, if they’d reach that position ever again in Germany, I totally freaked out!!! ;-P
lonely_girl said on March 7, 2003 06:50:
I didn’t know that ON is already on sale in Switzerland? That’s typical, this bloody National Radio Station is promoting all stupid boy-and girlbands and those casting “stars” but they let down on “old bands” like Rox or U2 and so on *grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*

I think if Roxette would ever enter the German Top 20 Single Charts again I would die of a shock! ;-) It would be like the coolest!

I mentioned this on the front page...
Don’t you guys think that the copy protection had an effect on the sales?
Sascha said on March 8, 2003 11:11:
@ Animalkingdom: Of course they are charting better in Sweden than in Germany. But also ten years ago not all of their singles went to top ten.
room-service said on March 13, 2003 11:38:
newest sales charts:
Swiss: 98 (87) :((
Sweden: 23 (11) :(((

i dont think its bad , seeing there was NO promotion what so ever from marie or per. which is understandable.
animalkingdom said on March 13, 2003 12:21:
I am very sorry to say but zero promo is not understandable from PG! He did it with ATAY & TBH, why not with ON?
room-service said on March 6, 2003 13:51:
Sweden is not bad (better than ATAY but the competition is not so heavy at the moment).
No comment to the Swiss-position :(
