Hey! Which is, in your opinion, the last power ballads Roxette did? I think thay are Love Is All, What’s She Like?, and Almost Unreal... Do You agree?

Melody wise it was probably “Salvation” although the arrangements tried hard to lighten it a bit...

@ xarrr -I agree, plus maybe Things Will Never Be The Same. Well, I’ve always seen that as a ballad. And I’ve been assured that in Sweden leaves do, indeed, turn blue :)

By the way, I’m quite pleased they gave up on trying to sound like Heart. They’re better now.
“Fading like a flower” & “Listen to your heart” sound so much better when played live and acoustic. I think a lot of people turned their back on Roxette because they felt they sounded just like any bland american band...

As a “power-ballad”, I think “Almost Unreal” was the last one.
“Anyone” is a strong ballad but it’s not power-ballad because of the lack of guitars :)

i kinda agree Baio... BUT.... (imho) the lyrics are very suited to be a ballad. and the acoustic version on Tourism shows it to be a great ballad :)

Salvation is a radio pop ballad, WICF is a soul influenced ballad and MWMLML is more a hip-hop song than another thing... I’m worried...

“Bringing Me Down To My Knees” is not a teen ballad. It’s not a power ballad either. It is more emotional than the normal Roxette ballad.

I’ve noticed that with the exception of the first album, their most beautiful ballad is always the last song on the album, 2 of which was written by Marie. Breathe is an EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL song.
Anyone who has a copy of Ballad Hits will know what I mean.

I have never seen a song which is further away from hip-hop than MWMLML.
MWMLML is one of the most beatiful ballads Roxette has ever made.
