“The 11-song American Life (April 22) was co-produced by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzai, who also co-produced her Music (2000) and the recent James Bond tune “Die Another Day.” The album’s title track will be the first single, with a video by controversial director Jonas Akerlund (Smashing Pumpkins, the Prodigy); the video was completed in Los Angeles this week, the singer’s spokesperson said.”

“MATERIAL GIRL IN A POLITICAL WORLD: MADONNA PLANS VIDEO TO PROTEST WAR, BUSH
Madonna is hoping to cause maximum controversy with a new video from her forthcoming CD, AMERICAN LIFE, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Editing is in progress on a musical video concept which insiders say may be the most shocking anti-war, anti-Bush statement yet to come from the showbusiness industry.
“She’s taking it all the way this time,” one source said from Los Angeles over the weekend, “pushing all of the buttons... It is a sweeping political commentary on the modern ’American Dream’ and how ’nothing is what is seems.’”
The song will be released to radio next week.
Dressed in commando fatigues, Madonna throws grenades as the techno
terror beat pounds, claims a source. Limb-less men and women are
reportedly shown, with bloody babies.
One disturbing clip features Iraqi children.
Fashion models are mixed with soldiers; sex, violence and war, and new
century sentiment.
Madonna spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg did not return repeated calls seeking comment.
The shock film for AMERICAN LIFE comes as Madonna returns to the musical spotlight with a CD of original songs, set for an April release.
“AMERICAN LIFE is about freedom of speech,” claims an insider. “It
examines not only war, greed and ego, but it’s self-reflective also.
Madonna rejects her ’Material Girl’ image once and for all, and warns of life in a material world”

coy:you re wrong and not updated! madonna is more than that (i wont bother to explain as there are facts and music history to prove it)
and second shes back in Los Angeles
and since when Freedom of speech and anti-war feelings is politics?

shock value and preaching isn’t fredom of speech its trying to dissuade people from truth using shick tactic like gore and murder to depict ehat war is..not every was or millitary action results in tons of casualties...i don’t appreciate it when peopel so removed from the world as celebrities try to tell em how to live my life..like bono and third world debt...or pro life artists and such..it my freeedom to choose how i want to live and not to hear people tell me over the radio not to...music is entertainment not a session of the UN

Sounds cool, and I know “Die Another Day” will be on the album. I saw on Billboard online that the video is supposedly quite violent, and Madonna won’t edit it either, good for her!! There are supposedly bloody limbs, broken bones, and dropping bombs. Sounds anti-Bush, anti-war, and meant to provoke, as Maddy’s videos generally do. Can’t wait for the new album, AL, and the 20th anniversary boxset!!
