Coverversion of Jefferson!!! (Protestant Girl)???

At the weekend I turned on MTV and watched this one music video, it was a dance song, I think it was called, Protestant Girl or something like it. From the very first second I thought: “Gosh, I know this song, I know this song...” I kept on huming the tune once the song was finished, trying to remember where I first heard it, when my wife started to sing: “I do believe, he didn’t do wrong, I say a prayer for, someone I care for...” (she didn’t even know I was looking for the original tune!) The tune was perfectly like Jefferson from Room Service!! I mean, I listened to quite a few songs that were supposed to be cover versions of Rox Songs (Jeanette-Rock my life= The look) and I never thought them songs were anything close to a roxette cover. But this song is just shocking close to Jefferson, especially the part were she sings something like: “Protestant Girl, your Protestant Girl....= I do believe, he didn’t do wrong...)
I want to know, has anyone listened to this song “Protestant Girl” too? Did you notice the similarities as well?? Or am I just going mad??? ;-)
Does anyone know, if this song is an official cover of Jefferson???

this song is called “God Is A Girl” and it’s by Groove Coverage i think....

protestant girl....tz tz :-D

lol! Serious?? And I thought they were singing Protestant Girl!!! Anyways, don’t you think it sounds like Jefferson??

Yeps, it sounds like jefferson, everyone here is thinking the refrain or however you call it was stolen from Jefferson, and this discussion was already here 10 times before.... But that doesn’t matter, not every rox fan comes here as much as some others.
Rox on!
JAAP

they know how to sell a single.... :-D

think it sounds like Jefferson??? It’s the exact tune....how much closer can it get........DUHHHH!

but of course it was just a coincidence....LMAO

As the discussion was here, I posted a Zip file with the refrain of the song ... God is a girl

Here again:

groove coverage is from Ingolstadt/Germany, this my hometown :-)
And my brother know the singer from their.

@LittleGirl78

Jobarth,
danke für die Zip File. Listening to it again, there is really no doubt left, that this is taking from Jefferson... I like it though...

there’s a place to discuss in languages other than english..... respect it please.

Well Ferdan, have a look at the comment just above yours, because I respect this is english speaking here, we led it back to english, without anyone having to tell us...

Yep, it’s not only an exact copy of the melody, it’s also (almost?) the same piano arrangement in the background!

Groove Coverage is a really cheap dance-project. Seems like they never do anything on their own. And the cover-photo of the single is absolutely tasteless. The title is God Is A Girl and the pic shows a girl’s bikini with a finger playing under the cloth. Uhh, how far can it get!

The great melodies that Roxette hide in a little bridge of an album song, fill whole songs of other artists!
