Suggestion: Show us some statistics

Hi Lars,
I think, it would be really interesting, if we could have like a counter on this site, that states, how many registered fans are online at the moment on this site here. Sure, that should be really easy to do, as this service is provided on many Web Sites....
What do the other Fans think about that suggestion?

Yeah I guess that it would be a good idea.

However did you first think about your idea?

What purpose could it possibly serve? It would just be a number figure.

What would be better would be a chat room, with live chat and webcam.

That would be much more interesting.

I think you should direct your wishes to Visa, he’s the webmaster. And if you use the email contact button he’ll even read it! :-)

Yes, I agree... a live chat room facility at TDR would be an awesome idea.

I was just thinking to start of with a small counter first, of course your guys Idea would be even greater...
the purpose of the counter for me would be, if I have got an urgent question which I wanted to post, if I would see that 20 Users are online on the site, I would post the Question, chances to get answers are quite big then, if I would see however, that I am the only one onlione at the moment, there wouldn’t be any point posting an urgent question...
also it would feel great to see that fellow fans are online at the same time as you are...

Euh... if you read the rest of the forums (“TDR discussions”) you would realise I proposed that of the logged in people 1 month and a half ago... and didn’t have much success...

My role at The Daily Roxette is that of Managing Editor... I deal primarily with the news gathering/editing/publishing operation. Visa Kopu, on the other hand, is the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief (and Webmaster). These kind of request/suggestions should be – as Judith correctly pointed out – directed to him, not me.

That said, we appreciate having you as a loyal reader of The Daily Roxette.

There was a statistics page earlier, but for some reason I don’t remember right now, I took it off.

Anyway, there are currently 5,304 registered users. The top 10 of countries are:

1. Germany: 433 users
2. USA: 235 users
3. Sweden: 222 users
4. UK: 220 users
5. Argentina: 187 users
6. Spain: 139 users
7. Netherlands: 116 users
8. Brazil: 112 users
9. Australia: 91 users
10. Hungary: 84 users

There are total of 56,406 SmallTalk messages and news comments written by 1,306 users. We have published 849 news stories written by 104 users.

You’ve done a great job over the years!

@ roxeteer
- Slovakia is small country, so in my opinion it can’t go to top 10... But please, how many people are registered from our country?
And which position holds? :)
Thanx
Kecho

Woo Hoo!! we are 4th in the list.... 220 UK fans on site... that is a good figure...

Wow! My small country, Hungary is in the Top 10! :-))))

@ Katuska
- you are small country? we are smaller - here live only 5.5 mil people, i think you are about 11 milions :)
Kecho

@Kecho: You’re right...:-)

@ Katuska
- I know :-) we have common border :)

I read somewhere that TBH sold 235 copies in the US :)

with that striking number TBH probably could be on the highest places in the clasation of the biggest flops for the music industry of US :S :D

235 is better than nothing ;)

220 users in the UK? I figured it would be more like 12! Would Ireland be included on that - I hope not, though!

and 222 in sweden!? I would have guessed maybe 10-20 or something concidering most of us swedes get the news in the newspapers anyway. So we don’t really have to come here to get the latest news... although sometimes TDR are faster with the news than for example... Aftonbladet. That’s cool I think.

5,000 users! thats big! oam//

If 5000’s big, then what would you call almost 8900? Member #8888 apparently just got registered... ;-)

235 copies of TBH in the US??? Well I think I have bought 2 so far and made someone else buy one, and then I bought two copies of ATAY, but they were imports from UK so I don’t know if this counts:)

It would be nice to have an update on those stats... would love to know how many South African members there are...!!

yeah I would like if they added tons of facts. Not only about members but about roxette and other “roxettish” bands.
How much the records has sold, charts positions in various countries and so on.

Unfortunately the user numbers don’t reveal the whole truth. For a reason or another there are very many numbers that don’t contain a user. That’s why the “real” number of registered users as of writing this is 6,506. I think the number used in the message above was wrong.

Currently the number of published articles is 1,228.

I don’t have other figures right now.

more usa fans than uk wow i am surprised

So is there a possibility to get an update on that chart? And maybe not just a Top 10 but a Top 30, or even every country?

I don’t like counters in websites: it doesn’t sounds much professional.

But there’s a thing that I would like to know: what’s the most succesful post? I mean, the post that received more replies up to now.

The Marie review last year is in top. Find it under “archive”.

I’d like to know how many registered users are there from Lithuania and Denmark? :)

The night is so pretty and so young

Welp, that’s awesome in regards to the US! Woohoo! but, does anyone know the statistic on how many of us missed lunch because we went into The Daily Roxette instead of eating? Benji = 92% ya baby ya!

www.myspace.com/sloveproject

..or how many pages of one’s thesis could be written instead... LOL
