A-HAXETTE!!

Well...did Roxette tour to Norway for RS promo?
And how did they do there?
I mean, maybe A-ha experinence this lack of enthusiasm ’cause the swedish public never had real interest in foreign songs - specially if you consider that swedes and norway people are rivals, you know, that kind of national rivalism - if it weren’t rock or something really americanized.
Anyway, both Per and Pal talents are impossible to deny. I believe they have very coincident tastes, what would might help. The only thing that could happen is that maybe Per would want to play the songs more rocky than Pal.
And...only to annoy the girls...in terms of “cuteness”...Morten kicks Per’s ass by far.
And he is romantic...really, you can ask his girlfriend. Do you know Stay on these roads? This song was written ’coz he dreamed about a brunette girl...her pic it’s in SOTR lyrics from A-ha’s LP. And she said that dreamed about him, too...?!?!?!?!
Is love so magic like that??

Hey, I really like your idea! I have also got the latest A-ha CD Lifelines and it’s a very good album. I also saw them live twice this year and they made a huge impression on me. What a great live band!!
This girl of the duet, Anneli Drecker, was also there and you’re absolutely right about her voice.
I wonder what Per would think of your idea. I don’t know if he and Marie like A-ha, do you?
Well, Pål is a great song writer, just like Per, so I think a combination like that should absolutely kick ass!

“Turn the Lights down” is really one of the best songs of the album! I love it! I also saw A-ha live and that was really fantastic! Would be cool to hear how Morten’s and Marie’s voices fit together...

Scandinavia always made great artists and both Roxette and A-ha are the biggest representatives of pop music from that region from 80’s to 2K’s.
Besides, they’d make a very symetric four: Per&Pal, Marie&Morten...P&P&M&M...sounds such math thing, I guess...
Somebody needs to put this idea on...
It’s strange, but in the 80’s these crossovers were such normal thing...but now, well they only happen with trend artists...like the latinos Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin. But in their case, they re-recorded an old song. I just imagine what could born from P&P minds.
BTW...they’re so close, they’re neighbours...everybody here knows about bad things that Oasis said about Roxette, good things that Red Hot said about them, but nodoby knows about nothing on what A-ha could had say about Per and Marie someday? Scandinavia is like one single territory, it’s like if Per and Marie lived in a different ’state’ or province than A-ha.
Does any swedish know anything about it?

I think two good songwriters doesn’t mean a good song. Because there are many ways of working and most of them (Per Gessle himself included) prefer to work on their own...

What did Oasis and The Red Hot Chilly Peppers say about Roxette?
Santi said on November 15, 2002 08:28:
I don’t agree in that Scandinavia is “a country”, and anyway, about that just remember Blur and Oasis are from the same country and didn’t say fine things about each others. Just like The Wannadies (Swedish indie band) simply hate Roxette.

The Swedish audience at A-ha show in Stockholm last June wasn’t very enthusiastic...most of them couldn’t sing along to A-ha ’s hyper famous ’ Hunting High and low’
The venue was very small (the size of a basketball court)
and the event wasn’t even sold out.
I wouldn’t say that A-ha is huge in Sweden :-(
To have them collaborating with Roxette might turn things around ??
...don’t quite know what to think ...

Yeah, LOVE is that magic :) ;)
About Norway and Sweden, I gotta say my copy of Äntligen I bought it in a trip to Trondheim when I was living in Stockholm (really cheap, just 80 NOK!!!!! :D). That day I also bought Kent’s Hagnesta Hill (same incredibly cheap 80 NOK!!!) :D Kent is really big in Norway as far as I know and they come from Eskilstuna in Sweden. I think Swedish bands do better in Norway than the other way...
I looked a lot of times for CDs of Morten Abel and The September When in Stockholm and NO WAY :( Well, I bought it in Trondheim too :DDDD

Wow! Marie and Morten singing together is something I always dreamed of. It would be great. By the way guys you should listen to Morten Norwegian stuff. It sounds very strange at the beginning but it is absolutely unique!!!!

Hmmm...snob...I guess I have no idea...hahahaha...
How are you my fluffy brunette?
Gonna send you something new soon.
I’d like to highlight new A-ha’s album song, White Canvas...this kind of song makes me believe that a Per/Pal partnership would make it...and Time&Again (I believe it was written by Morten) shows how close - in performance matter - Mr. Harket and Mrs. Fredriksson are. Maybe should I say “how linked”?

Ok, I listened to A-ha’s newest ’Lifelines’ and, well, I hated at first listening, but I started to like. They’re not sounding like that A-ha from before (what really makes me believe that only Roxette made a succesfull ’return’ for the 80’s some-years-retirement bands) but it’s cool...nice sound engineering, some nice effects, well it’s A-ha.
But that’s not the point. There’s a track (Turn the lights down) where Morten sings with a girl (dunno her name). It’s a beautiful ballad, made sweeter thanks to that female voice.
I just wonder (and I posted that here before) what would it be if Morten and Marie sang something together, written by Per and Pal. Maybe that ’long joyride’ feeling would be brought back? Why they never think about it? I mean, if someone, some TDR reporter is going to interview Per while he is promo-touring ask that to him!! Or, better, let’s create a site with a petition for that! They can’t quit someday without singing and working together!!!!
