This is really disgusting! Why can’t I play the CD on my Mac’s CD drive? It’s just stupid...
I insert the beast, play it and no sound comes up. Thank you EMI and thank you Roxette for making me buy a CD that won’t play on my computer. I thought you would “Think different” by now.
Has anyone managed to hack this?
I just noticed the back of the CD doesn’t say it will play on Macs. But it doesn’t say it won’t either. I think I might return it to the store.

Not true, it DOES play on a Mac!!
I have absolutely no problem playing it on Mac OS X. I ripped the whole CD with iTunes and burned a copy. Perfect quality!
Only difference to a normal audio CD is that 2 volumes are mounted: 1. Audio CD with all the tracks, 2. CD with player application for Windows etc.
Btw. It’s a Powerbook G4, Mac OS 10.1.5

Antioxid,
Are you using mac OS 9.X?
I read somewhere these copyrighted CDs can ruin the whole computer.
Anyhow, everyone should check out mp4. It produces great quality media file with smaller size. I did that with the MoviePlayer (now gone) with QuickTime 6 enable and it blew me away. How about posting videos in mp4 format roxers?

I’m running OS 10.1.5 on an iBook 500.
So you say I can rip the CD through iTunes? I guess I’ll have to do that then. Open iTunes, select the tracks and rip them? And that’s it?
What I think it’s weird is that it opens the CD, starts playing, but no sound comes out.
I’ll try that then.
Thanks!

We all know that macs are better computers than PCs, but if you can’t listen to it on your mac is not a good excuse to return it to the store. Now you’ve got the original CD go and try to get some good mp3 of them as I did.
I can’t even copy it to my portable MiniDisc but I made a cd with mp3 and now I have the Ballads Hits on my portable device.
