im 15 and need to know more about roxette!

basically, I have been listening to roxette since i was born (thanks dad) but i never thought about them as people. the other day I saw them on tv and have been listening to their music (esp joyride) since then. I was too young to know about them when they were big and I have tried to find out about them on the net but haven’t found a lot. I think per is so cool, and his voice is well sexy! I just want to know about them as people. when did they meet, why did they meet, how does per write the songs so well, how do they talk etc. if you can help, PLEASE reply to this or email me. yeh, i know. ive been thinking about that circle. per writes the songs from the female pov, and marie knows exactly how to sing them even though they are per’s ’feelings’. but i really want to know who they are as people. i can find stuff out about them through their music, but i find it so hard to find reliable background on the net...

There is a community on the internet of people interested in collecting roxette stuff, talking about roxette and sharing pictures and other files.
If you become a member (which is free) you can ask us everything you want. If you want information about past and present releases, you can ask Colin and me (Mick) Our collection is big enough to say that we have almost everything that came out between 1978 and 2002.

Hey Zaine! Welcome to the forum! I can give you a few personal bytes about roxette, probably stuff you wouldn’t typically find on websites.
First off, to answer one of your questions, no, neither Per or Marie have ever been in “trouble” like so many of today’s “musicians”. No problems with drugs, wife beating, pulling a gun, or any crap like that. The only “issue” that comes to mind at all is every once in a while, some moron accuses Per of stealing their song (see front page story), but these are always bogus allegations which lead to nothing. Per & Marie are both really down to earth, humble people, despite their tremendous success and wealth. I first met them in Seattle a couple of years ago and was quite amazed at how warm and cordial they were. They took time to greet every fan after this “mini-concert” and it truly seemed as if they were generally interested in meeting their fans. They’ve often said that they get a lot of inspiration from their fans… the best on earth. You’ll find that Rox –fans span a very wide age gap. I first saw this on one of their early videos and it was confirmed again last November when I say people from age 10 to 60 in the audience at their Sweden concerts. Those were amazing events, probably the most spectacular in my life… 15,000 screaming Rox-fans in one place is something everyone should experience!

Per can write such great songs because he has a great talent of music.He is a genius!
And about Marie:Having a good voice is not enough for a singer;the way of singing is also so important.Marie exactly knows how to sing Per’s songs.
